Columbia, SC - The 4th year of the MLK Bash sponsored by Crescent Construction brought together some of the toughest teams from South Carolina. This years event was loaded with great matchups and high level players. LBI spent the day in Columbia observing this well put together event.

MLK Bash Standouts

D’Mya Tucker 2020 Wing Orangeburg Wilkinson HS
A very fluid athlete that impacted the game on both ends. Her length was a major problem on the defensive end causing numerous turnovers on the perimeter. Tucker is a very bouncy kid that handles the ball well in the open floor and is able to create for herself an teammates when attacking the paint.

Laniya Smith 2020 Wing Lower Richland HS
Smith has good size that enables her to be effective in both the post and from the wing. Has a knack for offensive rebounding and doesn’t mind the contact when finishing. She handles the ball well enough to operate as a point forward. Can impact the game in many ways.

Brooke Foulks 2019 F Lexington HS
A natural shot blocker with good timing. She is a high level rebounder on both ends, finished the game with 22 rebounds! Runs the floor in transition and showed she can also finish in traffic. Had a great outing in a win vs Lower Richland.

Danae Mcneal 2019 G Swansea HS
The Clemson signee had one of the best performances of the event. She did it all for her club on both ends. She showed she can be a facilitator as well as recipient, which ever was needed. Her length on the defensive end made it very difficult for the Dreher backcourt to advance the ball past half court. Finished the game with 27 points 12 rebounds 5 blocks and 6 steals.

Unique Drake 2019 G Westwood HS
Drake has signed to play at the next level at St. John’s University. A silky smooth guard with a killer mid range game.  She plays with a steady tempo and does a good job recognizing what the defense is giving her. The transition to the next level should be easier than most incoming freshmen.

Nyah Leveretter 2020 Post Westwood HS
Leveretter had a very solid game with 11 points and 15 rebounds. She continues to get better each time out. Most noticeable is her improved strength in the post and while rebounding. Will land in a BCS program in the near future.

J’Mani Ingram 2020 G North Augusta HS
Has a college body already, you can tell she spends time in the weight room. Her strength allows her to play bigger than her height calls for. She is fearless when it comes to contact. Very versatile on the defensive end, able to guard 1-4 on the high school level.
