Game Recaps
Macomb Dakota  - Farmington Hills Mercy
The Lady Marlins and their youthful core came out with a ton of pressure and forced Dakota into early turnovers. If that wasn’t enough the Lady Cougars best two players, Cameron Grant, and Taylor Williams, both sat with two fouls in the first quarter as Mercy led 14-6 following the period. In the 2nd quarter, Dakota got back into a groove to take a 22-20 lead at the break. The 2nd half was all Dakota’s as they had rallied a 21-8 by forcing turnovers and fast shots. By the 4th quarter, the game was all but finished as Dakota defeated Mercy 61-36

Grosse Pointe North - Bloomfield Hills Marian
The first quarter was a steady one for GPN and Marian as the Lady Norseman jumped out to an 8-0 run that was quickly avenged by Marian with a 7-0 run of their own, at the end of one North led 10-9. The 2nd quarter was more of the same as both teams had low and bright spots, GPN held their lead 25-22 at the half. In the third, GPN got off to a hot start with six unanswered points, and they look to take momentum, but out of the timeout, Marian battled back to cut it to three. GPN had a five-point lead at the end of the 3rd, 39-34. They say basketball is a game of runs and Marian made a run jumping out to an 8-0 lead following a pair of three-pointers from Sophia Mancini and a steal and score by Olivia Moore who gave the Lady Mustangs the lead for the duration of the game. The run ended at 19-0 as Julia Ayrault made her first basket of the quarter, but it was too little too late. 60-47 in favor of Marian.
