Close to 80 of the top girl's basketball players in Indiana laced up their shoes at the Noblesville (Indiana) Girls and Boys Club

Indianapolis, IN: Close to 80 of the top girl's basketball players in Indiana laced up their shoes at the Noblesville (Indiana) Girls and Boys Club to compete and give onlookers a glimpse of the future. It’s no secret that Hoosiers take their basketball seriously and there’s no doubt these girls take their games seriously. Here are a few standouts from the 2018 All-Indiana Top 80 Showcase.

5’10” 2021 SF Tenleigh Phelps Triton Central HS/Indiana Flight
How are you going to stop Tenleigh Phelps? That’s the $1 million question. The
lefty
wing was phenomenal at the 2018 All-Indiana Showcase. Phelps is a physical defender and her agility and size make for a daunting challenge for all defenders, all shapes, and sizes. She can take you off the dribble, shoot the 3, or just put her body on you until you eventually have no choice but to give in to her power game. Her versatility offensively and the poise she plays with are big-time assets. Triton Central High School has a gem!

6’6” 2020 PF Rashaya Kyle Marion HS/Always 100
In spurts, Rashaya Kyle can be downright unstoppable. She has improved her ability to get deep post position. On the catch, she makes strong moves in the post, almost always punishing her defender. She also passes out to the wing from the post very well. For her size, she moves her feet on the perimeter and defends the basket very well. Of course, I’m sure you are like, “she’s 6’6” duh!” But if you’ve been around the game long enough, it’s not a given a big is mobile enough to get to help from the weakside to do some of the things Rashaya Kyle can do. Big time prospect!

5’8” 2021 PG Ally Becki Brownsburg HS/Indiana Elite
Becki is a big-time shooter. Off the dribble, pull up jumper, catch and shoot, she has it all. Becki’s pace of play is outstanding! Her shooting, pace of play, and high basketball IQ puts her in the upper echelon of Indiana PGs regardless of class. She has a great motor and competitive streak that quickly endeared her to her teammates and will position her to be a big-time scorer for Brownsburg HS this season.

5’10” 2021 PG Mary Wilson Center Grove HS/Indiana Flight
Mary Wilson is going to outwork you and there’s nothing you can do about it. Time and time again, Wilson was ahead of the pack in transition, scoring multiple times on layups just flat out running the floor better than everyone else. She handles and passes the ball well, especially in transition. She also showed the ability to make the 3 and score off the dribble. Defensively, Wilson is a pest. I could say no one impacted game flow as much as Wilson did for all 3 scrimmage games.

5’9” 2020 SG Sydney Watkins Heritage Christian HS/Sky Digg Elite
I like to try to find the girls who have a “wow” factor on the defensive end and Sydney Watkins rings the bell! Watkins is disruptive on the ball. She gets deflections. She gets steals on the ball and in passing lanes. She has a certain grittiness to her game, an edge. Watkins is a catalyst on the defensive end that just makes your team defense better. Best of all, I can tell she likes it! Defense is a chore for a lot of people. It’s not for the faint of heart. That’s what makes what Watkins does on defense so special.

6’1” 2020 SG Sydney Parish Heritage Christian HS/Gym Rats
Sydney Parish has built quite the resume over the years; her name has become synonymous with high-level basketball in the state of Indiana. Her shooting abilities are not limited to the simple “catch and shoot” category. Parish will knock down the long ball with a defender seemingly ready, pull up off the dribble in transition if you don’t find her and has the wherewithal to come off multiple screening actions ready to fire! Because of her cemented reputation as an elite shooter, Sydney’s teammates will often benefit from defenders scrambling to close out. Her passing ability makes her even harder to deal with. This shooting guard most definitely has the tools to compete and contribute at the next level.

6’2” 2022 SF Ayanna Patterson Homestead HS/Always 100
The fight for Ayanna is over! The Spartans from Homestead High have landed this top youngster, much to the dismay her conference foes. This elite athlete most certainly causes headaches when deciding how to defend her. Her quickness combined with an outstanding jumping ability puts a high demand on defenders desire to work! She crashes the offensive boards hard and with purpose. Her second jump is unstoppable! Coaches everywhere will have to bring out the box out drills when preparing for Patterson.

5’8” 2019 PG Aubrey Barker Plainfield HS/Showcase
Leadership, leadership, leadership. That’s truly what comes to mind when watching this senior play. She’s the very definition of what all coaches want when they desire that “extension” of them on the court. Her non-stop chatter and encouragement were contagious. It’s no wonder one of her best attributes was her ability to create something good off of ball screens. She directed and controlled the outcome from start to finish. She has mastered the mid-range pull up while navigating the defenders with ease. Her athletic build and high motor
is ready for her to take to the next level. This point guard is open for business, as she is UNSIGNED!

6’1” 2022 SF Kate Clarke Carmel HS/Indy Magic
Somebody has definitely been in the gym with this young lady! She’s only a freshman, but already possesses the tools of a player much older than her. She had a cool, calm and collected demeanor about her. Clarke was able to execute the 3 on 2
break with perfection. She hit cutters, knocked down open shots with picture perfect form and handled the ball under pressure like a vet! Her developed frame also allowed her to give and take expected contact when getting to the rim. Although she seems to have a mature game, her upside is tremendous. The potential that this perimeter player possesses will no doubt keep her on the radar for years to come.

5’9” 2020 SG Maya Chandler Triton Central HS/Indy Flight
Seem nowadays everyone is looking for the sparkle that catches your eye. The flash and the shine that wows crowds. Maya Chandler is the type of player that sneaks in unassumingly and takes over a game. She does all the right stuff at all the right times. Whether it’s making the difficult backhand pass, staying in front of the other teams best slasher or elevating over the help with a textbook pull up-she seems to have it all. Let’s not forget about the high-level decision making she possesses; creating and setting up her teammates for easy buckets. You have to play this kid straight up and with maximum effort, if you want to have a chance against her!
