Athletic Bigs Was On Display In Indy On Day 1

Indianapolis, IN: It’s that time of year. Time to measure up. Time to implement and showcase the new skill set you’ve been developing with your trainer while trying to also push and promote your team's agenda. It’s time!  Time to perform in case many head coaches and assistants are watching. Or maybe LBI Steve is filming and you could put the link to one of his highlight videos of you on your Twitter profile. Whatever your motivation...It’s time! Here are a few girls who seized their moment on Day 1 at the USJN Premier Showcase in Indianapolis, IN.

6’4” Sanaia Feagin F 2021 Georgia Pearls 16U
Sanaia Feagin is special! She has a dominating and electric court presence. She’s an ultra-athletic player that covers a lot of ground on the defensive end. I estimate Feagin collected over a half a dozen deflections and blocked shots. Amazing considering she was saddled with foul trouble in the 1st half. She was unstoppable in transition as she runs the court extremely well and finishes with a baby soft touch. She’s a difference maker on both ends of the court and a big-time prospect.

6’3” Imani Lester F 2022 Carolina Flames 16U
Imani is young but carries a lot of responsibility for her team. Largely because of her advanced skill set, Lester is the primary focus of her team on both ends of the court. She was great defending the basket in transition with 2
monster, chase down blocks. She was active on the boards on both ends of the court. Even more impressive was that she was involved in pick and roll as a screener and later in the game as a ball handler. In a few of those pick and roll situations where she was the initial ball handler, she was able to make passes that led to layups. Whatever the Flames needed, Imani Lester was up to the task.

6’2” Keanna Rembert F 2021 Carolina Flames 16U
Remember the Energizer Bunny? That’s Keanna Rembert, she keeps going and going and going...! You look up and she’s going to the boards. Then she’s going after loose balls. Rembert is very athletic and stronger than she looks. She is not afraid to throw her body into the mix and scrap for rebounds. She has a polished post game as well from the block, mid-post, and high-post. Rembert also has the ability to take defenders off the dribble with an electric first step. Keanna and the aforementioned Imani Lester are quite the duo and arguably the most talented young frontcourt at the 16U level.

5’10” Lauren Jensen PG 2020 North Tartan 16U
Lauren Jensen is a gem and is fun to watch. She’s great in the passing lanes and has a knack for being involved in loose ball situations. She has superb court vision and dictates tempo like a seasoned point guard. What I love, love, LOVE about Jensen is her pull up jumper. I’m under the impression a pull-up is a must have for a point guard to score at the next level and Lauren has one! A grade-A pull up and high basketball IQ makes Lauren a point guard I’d love to have on my team.
