The Shamrock Classic has been an excellent event for Indiana and other Midwest travel teams to kick off their travel seasons

Westfield, IN: For many years, the Shamrock Classic has been an excellent event for Indiana and other Midwest travel teams to kick off their travel seasons.  There were some sound and exciting basketball being played by some of Indiana’s top teams and prospects.  Here are few players who performed well and seemed poised to take their stock to the next level:

Keegan Sullivan 5’10” Guard 2020 Sky Digg Elite-Sullivan/South Bend St. Joe HS
Keegan has great pace to her game.  She played the point and was effective (5 assist in 1st half of 1st tournament game vs. Indiana Elite Gold), but is better suited to be on the wing.  She has range 2-3 steps off the 3-point line.  She can get to any spot on the court off the dribble to create for herself and others.  Sullivan was scary in transition with the ability to get all the way to the rim or set up teammates for easy layups.  She even showed some finesse on a floater.  Keegan is powerful and has a college-ready body.  She is a big-time prospect.

Jasmine McWilliams 5’10” Forward 2020 Indy Gym Rats Gold/Carmel HS
Jasmine was relentless attacking the body.  Unstoppable when going downhill because of her quickness and ability to contort her body to finish shots most kids can’t.  Her extremely high motor allows her to create turnovers by getting out in the passing lanes. She also rebounds well on both ends of the court.

Khera Goss 5’10” Wing 2020 Indy Gym Rats Gold/Ben Davis HS
Goss is the engine that makes the Indy Gym Rats Gold defense run.  Her length, quickness, and speed are a deadly combination on both ends of the court.  She has a real tangible intensity about her game from start to finish.  She can step out to make the 3, but her money is attacking defenses off the dribble.  She puts a lot of pressure on opposing defenses with how fearless she is in getting to the rim.

Alex Richard 6’0” PF 2021 Indiana Flight Attack/Avon HS
Alex Richard is a physically imposing force.  She mixes it up in the paint for rebounds but is agile enough to give guards fits out on the perimeter.  She’s terrific going downhill off the dribble.  She displayed the ability to knock down the perimeter shot 15-18 feet comfortably.

Shae Littleford 5’7” G 2021 Indiana Elite Gold/Charleston HS (IL)
Shae gets after it on both ends of the court.  For my money, she was the toughest girls at the event.  She carried the load on the offensive end and guarded the other team’s best perimeter player.  She had an awe-inspiring 24 point performance in 2 point win over Indy Magic.

Carissa Garcia 5’7” PG 2019 Indy Gym Rats Rose-Gold/Fort Wayne Concordia HS
Carissa was arguably the best point guard at the Shamrock Classic.  She’s fundamentally sound and incredibly skilled.  She passes equally well with both hands, and her pass placement to her teammate’s shooting pocket was elite.  She has great touch on her three
ball.  Carissa has exceptionally high basketball I.Q.  I was impressed with her motor and ability to guard her position and still run her team offensively.  Carissa was vital in Indy Gym Rats Rose Gold upset win over Indy Gym Rats Silver.  She was equally impressive in finals loss vs. a really tough Indiana Flight Thunder team.  If I had a Shamrock Classic MVP trophy, I’d give it to Carissa.  Great job kid!

Cassidy Crawford 6’0” Wing 2019 Indy Gym Rats Red/Tipton HS
Cassidy is a competitor.  She has an edge to her game that catches the eye.  I saw her turn the ball over…track the kid down that got the steal…blocked her shot…then gave her the mean mug lol.  It was awesome!  Cassidy adds a lot of skill to that fire on the court.  She got to the free throw line seemingly at will.  She also has a nice shot she can knock down when she is in rhythm.  She’s long and is going to be even better when she adds strength to that frame.

Kendall Bostic 6’1” PF 2020 Indiana Flight/Northwestern HS
I was beyond impressed with Kendall.  Let’s face it; basketball is trending at an alarming rate toward becoming a guard-oriented game at new levels.  Kendall Bostic gives “bigs” hope.  She understands leverage and positioning in the high-low and post-game.  Post play I.Q. is off the charts.  Her interior passing is to die for.  She can throw the high-low pass, touch pass, pass out of the double team to open shooter…any pass you need.  Kendall has soft hands and is a sure bet to catch most anything thrown her way.  She can step out and knock down the long jump shot.  She runs the floor extremely well and has a great motor for her size.  You would be hard-pressed to find a post more skilled then Kendall Bostic…anywhere!

Lindsey Syrek 6’2” PF 2020 University HS
Great size and uses it well.  She used an array of post moves and finished some tough shots around the basket.  Lindsey was also able to attack “bigs” off the dribble from the perimeter.  She showed good touch on jump shots from the elbow.  Lindsey finished with 14 points in tough loss vs. Indiana Elite Gold.
