Kannapolis, NC - Carolina Live was supposed to be a small 1st year event to end the July viewing period. It ended up being one of the hottest regional live events of the summer. The states of North Carolina and South Carolina were represented well with the best programs in the states in attendance. Just about every D1 and D2 college from the Carolina's were in attendance and it proved to be a great environment to end the summer.

Player Highlights

2018 A’Lea Gilbert PF NC Spartans 2018
Gilbert quieted any questions about her being a division 1 player. She was very strong in the post and showed that she could also play off the dribble. She had a very nice spin move in the lane that brought the gym to its feet. An improved face up game was on display as she knocked down a few mid range jump shots.

2018 Amari Young W SC76ers Black
Young’s stock continued to go through the roof at Carolina Live. Her crazy athletic ability along with the silky smooth mid range game makes her a very hot recruit. She can guard the 1-3 and is a match up nightmare when she has the ball.

2019 Jeanae Terry G 1 Nation Elite (Detroit)
A do it all guard, Terry left the building Saturday afternoon and the coaches baseline was buzzing. The big time guard out of Detroit showed the all around game that has made her a very hot prospect in July. She can score on all three levels but what is most impressive is her ability to create for her teammates. Her hard nosed approach to defense is what sets her apart.

2019 Tamari Key Post Carolina Flames EYBL
Key proved that she is the #1 player in the Carolina’s class of 2019. She dominated games on the defensive end with multiple blocks in every game. He ability to close out on a 3 point shooter from the block is insane. She continues to improve around the basket on the offensive end.

2019 Cassidy Bell PG SC Lady Raptors Elite
Cassidy Bell was a spark for the SC Lady Raptors Elite in their win against a very good SC76ers Sizzle team. She has a very high IQ for the game. She has a nice face-up game and she stays within her lane by contributing but no trying to over do it. 

2019 Quadijah Moore PF SC76ers Silver
Moore had a great showing at Carolina Live. She was very strong finishing through contact, blocking shots and rebounding both ends. She also showed that she can knock down the 3.

2019 Kathleen Perko SF Flight 22
Perko is at her best operating from the high post. She has good sized and finishes through contact. A good interior passer to go along with a mid range jump shot made her stand out.

2020 Anya Poole PF Carolina Flames EYBL
Poole is a very strong rebounder on both ends, she also showed off a good mid range jump shot. She is a high energy kid that goes hard all of the time.

2020 Destini Abramson-Lee PG Team Lady Wall 2020
Destini Abramson-Lee lead her team against a very good SC76ers Sizzle. Although they lost the game, it was evident that she has a very nice handle with explosive moves to the basket. She shoots the three well and can score all three ways.

2020 Ja'Rae Smith PG SC76ers Sizzle
Ja'Rae Smith helped lead her team to a win by being playing both sides of the ball. She was very scrappy on defense. On offense, she showed her versatility by slashing to the basket and by hitting back to back three point shots.

2021 Michelle Ojo F NC Spartans Watts
Ojo’s ability to play on the block and on the perimeter makes her special. She showed she can handle the ball in the open floor and attack the basket or catch it in the post and do work on the low block. Her upside is huge!

2021 Jessica Timmons G One Dream
Timmons game is mature beyond her years. Her ability to score from anywhere on the floor makes her a difficult matchup. She already has a college ready body with a skill set to match.

2023 Drew Alexander G Palmetto 76ers 13u
Extremely high IQ for a kid entering the 7th grade. Showed the ability to score on all 3 levels and did a good job of setting up her teammates for easy baskets. She will be fun to watch over the next few years.
