Game and Team Highlights

East Kentwood:

  • Mauriya Barnes’ ability to knock down big 3 pointers was the key to keeping the Eagles at arms-length. She was able to keep pressure on the ball all night to wear down the Eagle’s guards and keep them off balanced.
  • Lauzarea Saunders used her length and mobility on the glass and on defense to make things happen for her team. Saunders had some nice pull-up shots in the 1st half to keep it rolling.

Grand Rapids Christian:

  • Edecia Beck played every position on the floor the Eagles. Beck got to the basket with ease either finishing with a foul or setting up a teammate for an easy score.
  • Sydney Muller handled East Kentwood’s press all night with just being solid and poised. Muller was a little rattled early, but by the 2nd half she had everything under control, using ball screens to free her to score and dish.
