Charlotte Game Day brought out teams from NC & SC

Charlotte, NC – LBI hosted Charlotte Game Day to give local teams a venue to pick up a couple of games before the live period. It was a huge success! Programs from North and South Carolina showed up and participated in some competitive games.

Player Highlights:

2017

J’nai Millner 5’8 G Carolina Dynasty 11th
Millner is a very athletic guard that specializes in attacking the rim. She showed good body control splitting defenders getting to the cup finishing through contact. She rebounds her position as well as any guard in the state.

Sydney Miller 5’11 W Lady Team CLT
A great shot blocker with a nose for the ball. Miller did a good job running and finishing in transition. She is a long rangy athlete that covers a lot of area. She has good defensive instinct and plays the passing lanes really well.

Cameron Martin 5’6 PG Carolina Dynasty 11th
A pass first point guard with a crafty handle that showed she can knock down the 3 ball when needed. Her leadership and court vision really stood out.

Kamryn Lemon 5’6 PG SC 76ers Black
A cat quick point guard that will leave you standing still if you’re not on your toes. She had great body control and strength that allowed her to finish through contact. On ball defense is her specialty.

Nokomis Williams 6’ F Carolina Dynasty 11th
Williams is a big time shot blocker that runs the floor well and has a soft touch around the rim. She did a great job on the backside, rebounding the ball and finishing.

2018

Amari Young 5’11 W SC 76ers Silver
Young may have been the best athlete in the event. She’s long with springs and very quick.  A good shot blocker that rebounds and has the ability to defend the 1-4. She also has range out to the arc. She will be South Carolina’s best kept secret until the live period is over.

Marissa Mackins 5’7 G Carolina Play Hard
**SNIPER** A flat out shooter. Mackins opened the first game with 4 straight 3’s from deep! She also showed the ability to go around defenders and get to the rack. April viewing period will be huge for her.

Jazmin Harris 6’3 P Carolina Dynasty 10th
She was the most dominant post at the event. Her footwork gets better every time I see her. She has a soft touch around the basket, has range out to 15’ feet and does a good job running the floor.

Shamoni Stafford 5’5 G Lady Team CLT
Stafford was a great vocal leader for Lady Team CLT. She showed range out to the arc and is strong enough to finish through contact for the old fashion 3 point play. Her defensive intensity sets her apart.

Future Stars

We had a couple of future stars at the event playing up 3-4 years. These young ladies held their own against the tough, older competition. We are looking forward to tracking them in the future.

Rhian Lawrence 2023 PG Carolina Play Hard
Samira Khalil 2024 PG SC 76ers
