Lazaurea Sanders '18 Athleticism Was On Full Display At The Pre-Exposure Classic

Maxine Moore had a good offensive performance on Sunday

Goodrich, MI – MustSee Tourney hosted its 1st Annual Pre Exposure Tune Up basketball event this Sunday at Goodrich High School. This event was a great way to prepare for the official NCAA certified evaluation period which begins next weekend.  The day was cut short due the snow which I didn’t expect, but here are a few standouts that from the great games I did witness.

2018

Maxine Moore  5’11”  Post  Michigan Storm (McAllister)
Moore was consistent and dominant on Sunday and as the tournament moved along so did her production. This lefty post who continues to develop her game showed a soft touch with either hand, finishing around the basket and also shot very well from the perimeter. Moore would easily be one of the most coveted post in the state of Michigan if some schools weren’t afraid of her height.

Jaida Hampton  5’9”  Guard  Michigan Storm (McAllister)
Hampton was effective on both ends of the floor. Although her dominance on the offensive end was not always in the form of scoring, the athletic wing led the break on several occasions that resulted in easy layups. She played great defense and she made it very difficult for anyone that she was guarding to score.

Edecia Beck  5’9”  Wing  West Michigan Drive
One of the most talented players in her class, Beck did not disappoint those in the gym today. She delivered a versatile offensive package of dribble drives that led to strong finishes and she also mixed in some crafty laser dimes. Edecia demonstrated the look of the high major talent that she could be if she continues to play with a sense of urgency throughout the spring.

Lazaurea Sanders  6’1”  Post  West Michigan Drive
Sanders might be considered a post player, but this kid is as multitalented as they come. She defended all five positions on the floor and was the leader of her team’s full court press, where she got a lot of deflections by just hustling and running all over the court. Sanders scored on the low block with some strong post moves and she’s a quick leaper that allowed her to rebound on both ends.

2019

Shine Strickland  6’0”  Post  Michigan Select
Strickland showed off her solid upside by running the floor well, hitting the glass and defending on the interior. She did a nice job seeking out contact on box outs in order to secure rebounds. Shine exhibited great hands by catching passes while running in-stride and finishing near the hoop.

Future 2020 Point Guard Will Be Fun to Watch
Michigan Storm (McAllister) 2020 point guard Deja Tyson will be a name that many fans will be hearing about real soon. The 5’3” floor general showed that she can play with the upperclassman on Sunday. Tyson was explosive with the ball in her hands in the open floor. She passed the ball to moving targets on point several times. She is not afraid to go inside and mix it up, and she showed this by snatching a key offensive rebound. Her level of heart was also displayed when she knocked down a game winning free throw to help her Michigan Storm squad defeat Michigan Select 31-30 in sudden death.
