Once again the Sailors and Chargers gave us a show on the court. These two teams started off going head to head, taking each other’s best shot but still pushing. Hot hand shooting from Taylor gave Dow a slight lead that was short lived after some great defensive stops from the Sailors. At the end of the third quarter, the game was tied. Mona Shores had a string of forced and unforced turnovers that the Chargers were able to capitalize on. This resulted in a 26-8 fourth quarter and Midland Dow winning the game
MVP honors went to Ellie Taylor from Midland Dow with 24 points. Both Walker and Winston finished with 14 points for the Sailors.
Game and Team Highlights
Muskegon Mona Shores:
The Sailors seemed to run out of gas in the fourth quarter. If they can become mentally tough and play through the fatigue, they will win the next matchup they have like this.
Winston’s game is maturing every time we see her play. She’s a special kid.
Midland Dow:
Dow had some unforced turnovers that allowed Mona Shores to stay in the game. They must play hard the entire game.
Once the Chargers are locked in, they are deadly. Scoring 26 points in one quarter says a lot.
