From the opening tip, these two teams would go to war. They both hustled after lose balls, played hard nose defense and were aggressive on offense. Soon after the start of the 2nd quarter, the Lumberjacks would be plagued with turnovers and allow Frankfort to take control of the game. After the halftime break, Frankfort would take a double digit lead and never look back. Arthur Hill struggled to put points on the board even though they played really hard.
MVP for this matchup goes to Mackenna Kelly with 19 points. Stevenisha Thomas led the way for the Lumberjacks with 18 points, followed by Chary’Anna Pershaw with 13 points.
Game and Team Highlights
Frankfort:
These ladies did a great job of playing together. They have great chemistry.
It is important to keep a cool head and stay focused when playing a physical team. Becoming a little agitated at times took Frankfort off their game.
Frankfort must learn to make better decisions in the clutch to avoid giving the other team a chance to come back.
Saginaw Arthur Hill:
Despite coming up short, the Lumberjacks never stopped playing hard. If they learn to that under control and together, they will have a successful season.
Somebody has to step up and be the floor leader on this team. A person for the others to look to for guidance.
In full court situations, Arthur Hill needs to focus on hitting shots and crashing the boards.
