Without wasting any time, the Sailors of Mona Shores took a huge lead. Lead by junior Jordyn Walker, Mona shores attacked the basket to draw fouls and played great defense to create steals and turnovers. The Bulldogs were cold as ice, scoring only one point in the first quarter. They went into the half down 35-11. Plagued by turnovers, Robichaud just could not find a way to get points on the board. Despite countless adjustments and hustle plays, Mona Shores were just too much for them.

Jordyn Walker finished with a game high 26 points, followed by her backcourt mate Alyza Winston with 20. For the Bulldogs, Brown led the team with 18 points and Palmer finished with 17 points.

Game and Team Highlights

Mona Shores:

  • The Sailors came focused and ready to play. It showed from the opening tip.

  • Walker is the heartbeat of Mona Shores. As she goes so does her team.

  • Winston is going to be something special. Her will to get to the basket is far beyond her young years.

Robichaud:

  • The Bulldogs decided to play hard too late in the game. They must show up focused and alert the moment they enter the gym.

  • Brown has to get going early in the game if her team stands a chance. Their energy flows through her.

  • Turnovers and foul trouble are going to be the two things that keep Robichaud from being a winning team. Double digit turnovers in one half, makes it nearly impossible to win on any level.
