Right away, the Gators of Arbor Prep took control of the tempo of the game. They forced Hartland to make quick decisions with the ball and maximized on the Eagles turnovers. Although it took a second for Hartland to make adjustments, they did and quickly started offering up the same dish that was being served to them. After halftime, Arbor Prep went on a 7-0 run and never looked back. They held Hartland to only 6 points in the third quarter. Although they never gave up, the Eagles just couldn’t get over the hump offensively. Arbor Prep went on to a double digit victory.

Leading the way was Nasstaja Chambers with a game high 17 points. Rhozane Wells gave 9 points toward the victory. For the Eagles, Lexey Tobel finished with 10 points and Emily Messner added 9 points.

Game and Team Highlights

Hartland:

  • Sometimes a team just has your number, and that was the case for Hartland. They moved the ball well, they communicated on defense and took great shots. The Gators’ speed and athleticism was just too much for them.

  • Hartland must find a way to play their style of ball no matter what. They were often forced into a fast pace style of ball that just isn’t them.

  • This is just one game. Hartland has to bounce back and finish the season strong. It’s still very early and anything can happen.

Arbor Prep:

  • The Gators did an awesome job of controlling the tempo of the game on both ends of the court.

  • Offensively, Arbor Prep moved the ball very well and took good shots. This type of play will lead them to the Breslin.

  • Keeping turnovers low was key to this victory. They Gators keeping turnovers low allowed them to distribute their energy evenly throughout the game.
