Hudsonville

Reigning Ottawa-Kent Red Champs are led by Cornerstone University commit Shaina DenBesten. Her front court counterpart, Chloe Gungrich, cleans up everything off the glass that Shaina does not get. 2018 point guard Kasey Desmit runs the show for the Eagles as they try to repeat as conference and District Champs

Muskegon Reeths Puffer

Coach Berry is excited as the bulk of his Ottawa-Kent Black Championship roster returns, including his four-year varsity player Kalisa Williams, who is back from a mid-season knee injury. Junior forwards 6’0” Brooke Larabee and 6’1” Delaney Boles will control the paint. 2017 guards Elysia Mattos and Camayria Williams will join K. Williams in the backcourt.

Wayland

People are counting out the Wildcats since the graduation of Central Michigan University’s Presley Hudson. However, fans and opposing coaches might have forgotten that several juniors were the backbone of the Wayland Regional Final appearance.  Lawrence Tech recruit 5’11” Hope Dollarhide will control the paint. Moving from the 1 to the 2 position will be 5’7” guard Ali Cutler. She will be able to get the ball to the sharp shooters Sidney Ritz and Ali Martus.

Rockford

The Rams will be looking to contend for the Ottawa-Kent Red Championship led by 2017 5’9” point guard Maddy Watters, who is being courted by many mid-major programs. Davenport recruit 5’6” guard Bri Young will help keep the opposing guards honest. 2018 5’10” guard Kayla Wildman and 6’0” post Zoe Anderson will be productive for the Rams.

Wyoming

The Wolves lost two key players who were instrumental in their Ottawa-Kent Bronze Championship, but the cupboard isn't completely bare in Wyoming. Michigan State University recruit Claire Hendrickson will look to keep the tradition going. 2017 5’7” guard Kiarah Copeland will also be in her third year, playing an important role for the wolves. 2018 5’4” guard Menelisia McGee will be counted on to be a blur on offense and defense.

 Muskegon Mona Shores

Shores is looking for another great season as Western Michigan Recruit Jordan Walker will lead the way. A tough non-conference schedule will get them ready to compete for the Ottawa-Kent Black championship. 2019 Alysia Winston is electrifying on the open floor and the Sailors expect big things out of her. She is not only one of the top 2019 players in the state, but also has many major DI schools knocking on her door.

Marshall

Defending Interstate 8 Champions Marshall is looking to make another deep tournament run this season. Coach Konkle is licking her chops as this may be her best group since she led the Redhawks to 1981 state finals. Carlee Long will bring senior leadership to this talented team while a crop of juniors, led by coach’s daughter Jill Konkle and Nikki Turner, will be tough to beat. A tough season opener versus Williamston will be a true test.

Kalamazoo Central

With everyone back from there SMAC championship team, the Maroon Giants will be a tough team to take the title from. New coach Matt Price knows his team will be able to stifle opponents with its athleticism. Arjanee Morgan will be back at the point guard slot and Keyontae Owens will own the paint. Senior Saudia Johnson will be the inspirational leader they will need to keep this talented team afloat.

Forest Hills Central

After a midseason slump, coach Kelvin Grady had his rangers clicking at the right time all the way to the quarterfinal game where they fell to Dewitt. Four seniors will lead this group along their journey to the Breslin. Vermont recruit Jessica Fuller will be asked to run Grady’s attack. The Yob twins bring experience to the table, along with Rhea Thornton who will play a versatile role for the rangers. 2018 guard Maddie Winters is expected to bring a lot of energy and toughness to compete for a very deep and talented Ottawa-Kent White Championship.

East Grand Rapids

East Grand Rapids was 9-12 last season and 1-19 the season before that. They are young, hungry and poised to compete against a loaded Grand Rapids Christian team for the Ottawa-Kent White conference title. Megan Belke, a senior transfer from Catholic Central, will be an impact player for the Pioneers as she does it all and does it extremely well. Megan made the all-conference team as a junior. She has the ability to score, defend and rebound.
