Don't Sleep on Detroit King, they have the talent to make some noise

Don't Sleep on Detroit King, they have the talent to make some noise

Detroit King Crusaders (Class A)
Not the powerhouse program that Head Coach William Winfield had in the 90’s, however, you can always count on King to clinch PSL titles, make deep tournament runs and put a talented squad on the court. It will be exciting to watch 5’8” Senior Micaela Kelly (DePaul commit), who is now fully recovered from her torn ACL injury. Kelly can attack off the dribble, drain open jumpers and play “in your face defense.” Juniors, Alicia Norman and Tia Tedford, join Kelly to make arguably the best trio of guards in the PSL; add freshman Del’Janae Williams to the mix and the Crusaders will be a matchup nightmare on the perimeter. King also adds talented transfer sophomore guards Erica Whitley-Jackson (Country Day) and Jordan Lewis (Romulus) to give them even more depth. If the Crusaders can get everything clicking come March, they could make another trip to the Class A Final 4 and possibly win it all! They definitely have the talent.

Waterford Kettering Captains (Class A)
Kettering has the potential to play at the Breslin this year. Although still relatively young, this group is battle tested and is extremely well coached. They played the eventual State Champions tough in the Class A State Tournament last year and return their nucleus in Lilla Schoof, Haley Tewes and sophomore Marnae’ Holland who will have a breakout year. They execute their offensive sets to perfection and make very few mistakes. They can play an up-tempo game or are as equally comfortable in a low scoring game. This group is prepared and will give every team in its path a headache.  If you sleep on this team, you do so at your own risk.

Hartland Eagles (Class A)
Hartland has the tools to make a long run this year. This team lost a close tournament game to Heritage last year but is a year older and more experienced.  Lexy Tobel is one of the more versatile players in Michigan and she is primed to have a breakout year this year.  Her sophomore teammate, Graysen Cockerham, is a capable scorer who is capable of burying an opponent with three-point daggers.  Always a well-coached team, this year Hartland can bank on the experience gained in last year’s tournament as they push towards the Breslin. This group is capable of beating any team in Michigan and should benefit from a rigorous conference schedule. Don’t sleep on this group.
