Benton Harbor’s Kysre Gondrezick Stays Home Verbal's To Michigan

LBInsider.com No.1 rated in the class of 2016 and top 50 National player Kysre Gondrezick verbally committed to the University of Michigan this afternoon over Baylor and Texas A&M. The 5'9” senior from Benton Harbor High School kept her recruitment close to the vest before announcing she will be a future Wolverine.

Gondrezick had a phenomenal spring and summer with the Michigan Crossover EYBL squad helping them earn a Nike Nationals berth. Gondrezick ran point on that team, and the newest Wolverine made all those around her better! It may have come as a surprise to some who recognized Gondrezick as a prolific scorer first and foremost, but for those true basketball aficionados, it was simply exciting to watch a true floor general take command of a game in virtually every aspect.

"There are students who aren't breathing today, unable to make decisions about their future; I am so blessed and fortunate because here I stand! Announcing University of Michigan as the branding of my future." says Kysre Gondrezick

"I am so blessed and fortunate to exist in such humility as having universities recruit my children to represent their programs. They have committed to t he commitment of victory through basketball, which is the mechanism sourcing their education. I feel like the most blessed and enriched mother in the wor ld through the Lord's benevolence! Go Blue!"  says Coach Lisa Harvey-Gondrezick

With a solid class already in place, the addition of Gondrezick, potentially gives Michigan bragging rights to one of the top 2016 recruiting classes in the Big Ten. Michigan did a fantastic job in the month of July in showing Kysre and her family that she was their main target! With Head Coach Kim Barnes Arico unavailable for the most of the July recruiting period, the Wolverines still made sure a coach or two were present at every single game she played from Iowa to Nashville to Washington DC and Augusta, GA.

What Is Michigan Getting in Gondrezick?

Arguably the state's top scorer, the 5'9" Gondrezick is known for putting up big numbers in a short amount of time. Whether it's knocking down threes, attacking off the dribble for lay-ups or pulling up in the mid-range, Kysre gets the job done. 40 point games, 20-point halves and 10-point quarters aren't out of the norm for the Miss Basketball Candidate.

If the U of M vs. MSU rivalry isn’t big enough for you, Kysre going head to head against her sister Kalabrya, a freshman at MSU, should prove to add some real hype to this historical contest! The sisters who have trained with and against each other since they were 4 and 5 years old, have always pushed each other to be the best! It should prove to be sensational match up as they compete over the next few years! Good thing the Gondrezick/Harvey family is really close knit, as they are now truly a “House Divided!” Mom and Coach Lisa Gondrezick will have to wear neutral colors for a while!
