North Carolina represented well in Elite 48

Charlotte, NC - LBI Elite 48 NC brought out 80 outstanding prospects from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and New York. The camp started with a great skill session put on by Jody Patton (Kingdom of Development) and Chris Meadows (Momentum Skills Academy). There was tons of talented players in the house and they all represented well. Some of the player evaluations are posted below.

2016

Alexis Hunter 5’10' Guard Ravenscroft School NC
From opening drills thru the final scrimmages Hunter impressed… a solid skill set and very athletic…a lot of positive intangibles like court vision, jumping passing lanes, diving for loose balls and understanding defensive concepts…well rounded offensive game.

Emma Brooks 5’4" Guard Concord First Assembly NC
Explosive first step off the bounce…undersized slasher who plays bigger than her size…nice shooting form…very intense defender with solid technique and footwork…versatile athlete.

Chanese Pair 6’2" Post Wake Forest HS NC
Versatile…strong build and a high motor…solid in the post but was very adept playing face up basketball….Not afraid to put it on floor to create opportunities.

Chantel Williams 5’9" Combo Guard Mallard Creek HS NC
Outstanding court vision and feel for the game….always mentally a step ahead of the play…strong athlete who mixes bull ruches through the paint with some timely jump shots…a natural 3, she has all the tools in her kit to enable her to play anywhere on the perimeter at the next level.

Jenasai Mohammad 5’7" Shooting Guard Concord First Assembly NC
Prolific long range shooter…excellent court awareness and floor vision….Can play either backcourt position but her offensive prowess lends itself to her playing on the wing...Defensive instincts are solid and she did not hesitate to help on the glass when needed.

2017

Jaylin Powell- 5’10" Wing Rolesville HS NC
Fundamentally sound…deceptively quick…displayed nice shooting touch and good range from the wings.

Tariah (T.J.) Johnson- 5’8" Guard East Chapel Hill HS NC
Wiry, slasher who wasn’t afraid to mix it up with the bigs down low…attacks rim hard but also displayed a nice pull-up game from 12-15 feet. … covers a lot of ground defensively.

Dazia Powell- 5’10" Wing Millbrook HS NC
Arguably the best all-around player at the LBI Elite 48…Excelled at all three perimeter positions and spent time guarding the opposing post player…. A true “five-tool” player who was a coach on the floor at times…executed well in half court and transition settings…

Makayla Patrick 6’3" Post Middle Creek HS NC
Strong, solid low post presence…at her best in low post with back-to-basket…still developing….displayed good understanding of game and inside play.

Janelle Bailey 6’3" Post Providence Day NC
Elite level post player who excels on the defensive end. Whether denying post entry passes or swatting shots with ferocity, Bailey was a commanding presence all afternoon…good footwork down low and finishes well off either block…Showed ability to put the ball on the floor to create space or fire off a mid-range jumper.

Zaria Wright 5’8" Combo Guard Concord First Assembly NC
Whether running the show out front or knocking down jumpers from the wing, Wright displayed why she is one of the best combo guards in the region… Gets to the cup with ease and is rarely affected by contact …a master at getting the ball up on the glass, she is equally dangerous from beyond the arc…physically strong athlete whose biggest asset may be her basketball I.Q…rarely makes the same mistake twice.

Kelbi Lewis 5’4" Guard Hillside HS NC
A small sparkplug who created problems on both ends of the floor…Nothing small about her game…One of the quickest players in the building….excelled at ball pressure and creating opportunities for herself and others…Inconsistent jumper but the other positives far outweigh that drawback.

Bianca Lockamy 5’7" Guard The Oakwood School NC
A high motor player…made good decisions all day with the ball in her hands…good finisher in transition and a solid on-ball defender…her intensity between the lines compensates for any physical advantage an opponent might have.

Eleah Parker 6’4" Post Northside Christian Academy NC
Dominant inside presence at times…relentless on the glass, especially on the offensive end…Her ability to shoot a 15-18 foot jumper creates a matchup problem for smaller defenders but she makes her living between the blocks.

Hediyah Omar 5'7" Guard Carolina Prep Academy NC
Heady ballplayer…Displayed advanced point guard skills…was able to dictate the flow of games at times wither ball pressure, especially in the open floor.

Erin Thames 5’6" Point Guard Hopewell HS NC
With her ability to glide to the rim and twirl in a bucket ,Thames could make a living attacking from the wing. Being jet quick and her open floor decision making will likely land her a job as some teams PG at the next level. Silky smooth and twice as quick.

Kianna Funderburk 5’10" Guard Myers Park HS NC
Versatile wing who could develop into a special player down the road….testament to her versatility--spent as much time in the paint as she did on the perimeter…uses her body well to convert and create opportunities.

Zairya West  5’5" Point Guard Millbrook HS NC
Very headed point guard with a nose for the ball on the defensive end. She did a great job getting into the paint and creating for her teammates and herself.

Chelsea Wilson  5’9" Guard Dreher HS SC
Nice size guard that is able to guard 1-3. She did a good job attacking on the baseline and knocking down the midrange jumper. Plays well in transition.

2018

Madisen Smith- 5’5" PG Greenville HS SC
Excellent basketball instincts…skill set translates well to the next level…made all the right decisions in open floor and transition situations…very tenacious.

Amari Cuthbertson- 5’6" Guard RJ Reynolds NC
Definitely one to watch over the next few months… Outstanding court vision…delivered the ball on time and to the right place consistently…exceptional long range shooter…could become a household name if progression continues.

Evonna McGill 6’1" SF//PF Ashbrook HS NC
Prototype 3/4 …has decent face-up game and is comfortable handling the ball in space…strong and athletic enough to slide down to the low-post…made a number of impressive plays on the defensive end.

Lauren Carter 5’11" Wing SW Guilford HS NC
Her ability to push the ball on the break and make decisions on the fly was definitely a strong suit…. Seemed to relish contact when on the receiving end of fast breaks…plays defense with reckless abandon and that may be her ticket to a free ride on the next level.

Jazmin Harris- 6’3" Post Eastern Guilford HS NC
Displayed ability to finish down low in traffic….excellent offensive rebounder…consistently knocked down pull-up jumpers from high post area

Tayanna Jones 6’1" Guard North Johnston HS NC
Sky is the limit on this kids upside. She shoots the ball consistently from behind the arc, has good handle and attacks the paint. Has the potential to be one of the biggest prospects in the 2018 class.

Taylor Blakely 5’11" Guard Atkins HS NC
Big guard with a great skills set that really understands the game. She showed that she can score the ball at all 3 levels.

2019 - 2021

Jordan McLaughlin  2019 5’7" Guard Phillip O’Berry HS NC
Intensity is her middle name…a lockdown defender who is quick enough to give speedy guards fits and tough enough to roll with players twice her size….rapidly improving jump shot is a welcome addition to a fairly strong offensive repertoire.

Symphony Jackson  2019 5’7" Guard Carolina Reign Elite NC
Elite level athlete that has the ability to play the 1-3. She rebounds her position well and is a threat when ever the ball is in her hands.

Payton Sutton 2020 5’4" PG Middle School NC
Pass first PG who has a solid grasp of running a team…One of the best all-around of the young LBI Elite 48 attendees…Handled pressure well…adept with both hands.

Jada Lassane 2020 5’11" Post Concord First Assembly NC
Another baby boomer who bears keeping track of….adept at getting the ball off the glass…will improve as she matures and adapts to banging bodies with bigger, older players…defensive development is ahead of offense at this time but she altered , deflected or blocked numerous shots on the defensive end.

Andi Levitz 2021 5’2" Point Guard Weddington MS NC
Andi can flat out shoot the ball! She had a great camp holding her own against the older campers. The future is very bright for her.

Reigan Richardson 2021 5’10" Wing Middle School NC
Although she is young, she is projected as one of the top players in the 2021 class. At 5’10 with guard skills her future is very bright!
