Grand Rapids Fall League Week 4 Recap

Week 4 of the Grand Rapids Fall League got off to a good start with a great game between Maddy Watters and the Rockford Rams and Jen Deboer and the South Christian Sailors.  South Christian got out to an early lead and stayed in control the majority of the game. Jen Deboer continues to impress me with her leadership and ability to see the open floor and attack the basket. Maddy Watters can flat out ball. In addition to shooting the three, she also gave the occasional no-look or behind the back pass, showing she plays with a swagger of her own. South Christian ended up pulling out a close one.

Player Highlights

Geonna Jeffries 2016  5'3”  PG  Forest Hills Eastern
Geonna is lightning quick, relentless (even with on ball pressure), can penetrate and find teammates on the court. She is an exceptional defender.

Kaleese Jeffries  2016 5'7”  Wing  Forest Hills Eastern
Jefferies is a well-rounded basketball player. She is very athletic, a good defender, and displayed a very high basketball IQ.

Jocelyn Taylor 2016  5'10”  Wing  Grand Rapids Christian
Jocelyn is a force on the block. She rebounds, defends, blocks shots and can finish at the rim. She is a very solid player.

Ashley Klein 2016  5'8” Wing  Byron Center
The Davenport University commit is a strong athletic wing that can shoot the three. She really showed that she is tough and willing to be the gritty defensive player her team will need.

Onika Barkley 2016  5'6”  PG  East Grand Rapids
A quick and explosive guard, Barkley likes to score in transition and can also get to the rim, finishing with contact. She is good defender that made things very uncomfortable for her opponents.

Marcia Hawkins-Day 2017  6'1” Center Forest Hills Eastern
Hawkins has a nice touch from inside the paint. She did a good job rebounding, blocking shots, and showed that she is very athletic with lots of potential.

Alexis Hill  2017  5'10”  Wing  Forest Hills Northern
Hill is extremely long and athletic with great size. She can defend multiple positions and handles the ball well.
