ASGR Chicagoland Top Performers

Lady Ballers Insider was in the gym this weekend catching all the hoop action at the ASGR Chicagoland Classic. The talented hoopers that participated received a lot of exposure during the last evaluation period for the 2015 year. The event was held at Bolingbrook High School and plenty of college coaches were in attendance. Here are few names that stood out amongst their peers with their performance this weekend.

Marlee Kyles  2017  5’6” Point Guard  Mac Irvin Fire-Black (Elgin Larkin HS)
This guard took over for Lady Fire with her pinpoint passes to her teammates on offense and nice moves to the rim. Kyles also shot well from deep. The athletic built guard can handle the ball well and drives to the basket strong. Kyles is only a junior and has the potential to become an even better player.

Maxine Moore  2018  5’10” Post  Michigan Storm (Country Day HS)
Moore is a very smart post player and moves her feet well. She plays tough defense and crashes boards hard. She’ll grab a rebound and bring it up the floor herself. Moore is also one of the best passing post players I’ve seen in awhile. She finds her teammates easily on the court, regardless of where she is. With her combination of good post moves and her jump shot, Moore is tough to guard.

Graysen Cockerham 2018  5’9”  Wing  Michigan Storm (Hartland HS)
Cockerham showed an improved quick first step as she took many defenders off the dribble. She can shoot very well, knocking down numerous three-point shots in all 3 games. Graysen was very impressive with her poise on the court and played with a high of level confidence on Saturday.

Jaida Hampton 2018  5’10”  Wing  Michigan Storm (East Lansing HS) Very athletic, strong and versatile, Hampton helped lead her team to a first place finish in the 16U National division. She was a major presence in the paint for the Storm, as she found alternative ways to score. Hampton showed off some post moves and her mid-range shooting. She is really starting to put it all together, making herself a scoring threat from anywhere on the floor.

Lasha Petree  2018  6’ Wing  Michigan Storm (Plymouth Salem HS)
Petree made her debut on the national scene with Michigan Storm this weekend and found her own quickly. Her role changed slightly from her former team (Michigan Elite). Now having a true post player on the court in Maxine Moore, defenders are unsure who to try and stop. Sending two people Moore’s way left Petree open to work her magic by knocking down shots and driving the lane. She also wreaked some havoc on the opposite end of the floor, playing good pressure defense. Lasha will be a name to watch out for in the 2018 class in this upcoming high school season.

Aijha Blackwell 2018  5’11” Wing Team St. Louis (Whitfield HS)
Blackwell did it all for Team St. Louis this weekend. She ran the floor and got a lot of transition points. She crashed the board for every rebound on both ends of the floor. She showed some versatility in her gaming attacking from the perimeter and playing in the post.

Treasure Thompson 2020  6’  Post  Bolingbrook Panthers (Joliet Central)
Young athletic forward who finished well at the rim, Thompson excelled in transition by catching and finishing dump offs from guards. She is an active rebounder on both ends of the floor. She also had some impressive and assertive face-up moves that she displayed, all while playing 2 grade levels up. Treasure has a chance to be another top prospect from the state of Illinois.
