Head Coach Tory Verdi, and his energetic staff, greeted over 80 campers from all over Michigan and Ohio. This elite skills camp was full of opportunities for these talented young ladies to showcase their abilities in various drills, and fierce one on one, and team competitions. There were many who stood out at this camp, but there were some noteworthy performances from the promising class of 2018.

Camree Clegg 5’4” Point Guard Wayne Memorial HS
Clegg did a nice job of pushing the ball up the floor, getting by defenders, and attacking the basket. Not afraid of contact, Cam either finished strong or drew the foul. She’s not a pure shooter, but showed her ability to connect when it counts by making a couple deep perimeter shots during camp team competitions.  Always fun to watch, Clegg has a great motor and did a good job of defending on and off the ball. The starting Wayne Memorial point guard earned her first scholarship offer from Eastern Michigan shortly after the camp.

Jaida Hampton 5’10” Wing Forward East Lansing HS
Hampton has an impressive combination of athleticism, length and skill that allow her to do a variety of things on the court. She did most of her damage around the rim where she finished well with either hand. Although she didn’t make a lot of perimeter shots, she has the makings of a solid shooter with good form and a nice release. Jaida is competitive and has the confidence to step up and take the shot when open.

Alexis Miller 5’6” Point Guard Howell HS
Miller showed especially well during the one on one drill session and games. She has a strong skill set which allows her to play on and off the ball. She was at her best during the day spotting up drilling multiple three point shots. Miller is a consistent player who promises to have a stellar sophomore season for a talented Howell squad this upcoming season.

Kayla Luchenbach 6’1” Post Clarkston HS
Luchenbach is a long, skinny, agile post that can play facing the basket. Though Kayla didn’t have many touches in the post, when she did, she made her presence known.  Kayla is an unselfish player, effectively filling the role required by her team.  She competed hard throughout the day as she blocked multiple shots, grabbed several rebounds and ran the floor well.
