The young talent was on display in Ames on Monday

Ames, IA – The first day of the July evaluation period brought many coaches from all levels from across the country into Ames, IA for the 2nd Annual Simply the Best tournament, which is hosted by All Iowa Attack. The tournament is held at the team's beautiful basketball facility.

Player Highlights

Brea Beal  2019  6’ 0"  Wing  Midwest Elite (IL)
Beal is a skilled wing player that has a nice offensive feel and good penetrating ability. She has a quick first step with a well built frame that makes her dangerous when she has the ball in the open floor. A decent shooter at this point in her career but is at her best scoring from mid range or on the low block. She showed her ability to be a good passer and a playmaker throughout the day.

Alisia Smith  2017 6 ’2”  Post  Michigan Crossover
If anybody left the court with a buzz about them in the air, it was Alisia Smith. She dominated in both games that she played in today by catching everything that was in her area and finishing strong. She was active on the defensive end also, getting to every rebound and blocking numerous shots.  Smith has not reached her full potential and keeps getting better and better every time we watch her play.

Lauren Hansen  2019  5’7”  Point Guard  Exodus (NY)
Hansen is a big time talent. She was able to score and create shots for others at a high level. She is a dynamic ball handler that can create space for herself. Her tight handle of the ball makes defenders afraid to crowd her. She shot the ball with great consistency past the three-point line, completing her package and making her unstoppable.

Dyona Davis  2018  5’6”  Point Guard  Lady Choz (NY)
A very quick guard that sets her teammates up in transition for easy baskets, Davis was able to see plays two steps ahead of everyone else when while pushing the ball up the court. She is a crafty ball handler with a low center of gravity, along with her speed, made it tough to contain her.  Her gifts also allowed her to get into the paint for some tough layups.
