The state of North Carolina was well represented at the 1st Annual Carolina Jam Fest

Charlotte, NC – The state of North Carolina was well represented at the 1st Annual LBI Carolina Jam Fest this past weekend in Charlotte, NC. The LBI-Carolina staff put on an excellent event which is sure to increase in profile over the next few years. We are very excited about the future of LBI and LBI-Carolina as we continue to extend our service and events.

Here are some of the top performers from this historic event.

Olivia Nelson-Ododa 2018  6’4”   Post  Georgia Metros 15U
An all-around player who can do a little of everything, Olivia has the size and skills to play multiple positions inside or out. She caused a lot a damage in the post and off the dribble, attacking the basket and can also shoot from the perimeter. Nelson-Ododa was very good on the defensive end where she blocked numerous shots and rebounded the ball well all weekend long. She has a chance to be a Big Time college prospect.

Eleah Parker 2017 6’3”  Post  Lady CLT
Parker was the best player at the Carolina Jam Fest. She put her team on her shoulders and led them to the Championship. She was strong in the post and showcased the skills to score over both shoulders and has a nice touch from 15 feet. Eleah grabbed several key rebounds using her athleticism and strength to overpower her opponent.

Evonna McGill  2018 6’ Post Georgia Metros
McGill is just a workhorse on both ends of the floor. She doesn’t get any plays called for her and she still gets the job done. She was solid in the post doing most of her damage hustling for every loose ball, getting numerous put backs and finding the open teammate for easy scoring opportunities. She is a good passer from the post.

McKenna Haire  2017 5’8”  Wing   NC Spartans
Haire hit countless numbers of threes all weekend long. She showed her ability to step back, create space, stay on balance and still knock down the shot. She has a high basketball IQ and understands how to draw fouls when getting into the lane. She’s an all-around basketball player that gets things done.

Ahleah Myers  2018  5’5” Point Guard   SC 76ERS Sizzle
A small guard who doesn’t let anyone take advantage of her size, Myers was very quick with the ball in her hands as she blew by many defenders that tried staying in front of her with a hesitation move or a crossover dribble. She can finish at the rim even with contact because she creates the contact instead of waiting for it. Ahleah has great vision and is not afraid to fit the ball in tight areas.

Karena Purnell  2016  6’ 0"   Post   MDG Virginia
Strong, tough and nonstop motor makes Purnell a very good player. She is not dominant in one particular area but is exrtemely  good in several. She grabs every rebound in and out of her area and is a good finisher around the basket.

Unique Drake  2019   5’7”  Wing   SC Future
Drake is an athletic wing that has a nice handle and good range as a shooter. She did a good job at getting to the rim off two dribbles in the half court or getting out in the open court by running the wing. She is also a good defender with quick feet and length that can impact the game from that end of the floor as well.
