On the opening night there were some big time match ups and some very talented players showing off their skills.
Player Highlights
Jordan Wallace 2016 6’4” Post Philly Triple Threat 16u
An old school type of back to the basket post player, Wallace showed that she is mobile and capable of defending the low post really well. She is a big time rebounder and plays very strong on the offensive block.
Asiah Jones 2016 6’3” Post SC 76ers-Black
Jones is an athletic post with a lot of bounce and energy in the paint. She’s very active on both the offensive and defensive boards. Her quick leaping ability allows her to change lots of shots and she does a good job defending the post.
Shakira Austin 2018 6’4” Wing BWSL-Richmond
Austin is a versatile wing that showed she has an advanced skill set as a young player. She was able to create her own shot on the perimeter as well as off the dribble. Shakira did a great job rebounding the ball on both ends and creating opportunities for her teammates. This young player is one to keep an eye on.
Jordyn Allen 2018 5’6” Guard Philly Triple Threat
Allen was one of the best shooters in the gym. The lefty has a sweet stroke that seemed automatic every time it left her hand. She is a very poised guard with good shot selection and will make you pay if you lose track of her. Jordyn was a delight to watch.
Gabby Smith 2018 6’0” Post NC Spartans 15u
A young post that is not afraid to mix it up, we loved Gabby’s intensity and will to get down and dirty in the paint. She is one of those players who doesn’t shy away from the physical play, she instead embraces it. She’s a great rebounder with decent footwork in the low post. Smith has a huge upside to go with the great effort she gives.
