Not sure what to expect, I attended this Class A quarter final game full of excitement and very anxious. There is no doubt that the Lady Hawks of Saginaw Heritage are a phenomenal team that has been relentless since their first district game. They are always composed and ready for war. However, Hartland is a hungry and scrappy team that has built a reputation of battling until the end. The Lady Eagles were not intimidated by Heritage and it showed.

From the start of the first quarter, Saginaw Heritage made it clear that this was a business trip for them and that they were there on a mission. Although they were able to hold Hartland to four 1st quarter points, they themselves were unable to get the offensive cylinders going. Hartland made a statement to open up the second quarter with a big three point shot from 2018 forward Graysen Cockerham. This motivated her team and they turned up their energy on both ends of the court, forcing Heritage to turn over the ball. At halftime, the score was 19-17 Heritage, but the momentum of the game was leaning towards the Lady Eagles. The second half of this game belonged to Heritage. After getting in early foul trouble, 2018 forward Jaela Richardson was a force down low in the third quarter, scoring 4 points and snatching 6 of her 10 rebounds.  2015 point guard Aubree Snow was the floor general for the Hawks and had a game high 8 assist. Hartland never gave up and cut their deficit down to one late in the fourth, but they were unable to knock down several three point attempts which caused them to have to foul. Heritage made them pay going 7-8 from the free throw line. The Lady Hawks advance to the semi-finals and will face Dewitt at 1:00p.m. on Friday at the Breslin Center.
