Nastassja Chambers Scores Career High 28 Points

Arbor Prep came into this season with one goal in mind and that is winning a State Championship. On Tuesday night in the first half it looked as though the Gators would be on the verge of falling short of their goal. Blissfield came out and played great man to man defense that gave the Royals a 10-4 lead after the first quarter and only trailed 23-22 at the break.

Coach Rod Wells chastised his team in the locker room during the intermission and reminded them of practice strategy and plans. Boy oh boy did they respond. The Gators started the 3rd quarter on a 10-0 by playing steadfast defense that wore the Royals down and forced them to commit a lot of turnovers. This would give Arbor Prep a convincing 58-38 victory to set up a Regional Final showdown with Grosse Pointe Liggett on Thursday night. Liggett knocked off Riverview Gabriel Richard 58-35 in the earlier regional semi-final game.

Nastassja Chambers was fantastic. The junior pumped in a career high 28 points with 14 of them coming in the 3rd quarter.  Her Arbor Prep teammate, sophomore Rohzane Wells, chipped in with 11 points. Sophomore Brooke Henning finished with 13 points and 15 rebounds, which led Blissfield. Teammate Kelsey Wyman added 11 points.

Coaches from Northwood University and St. Louis University were in attendance.
