LBI Event Recap: Reaching Higher Top Performers (Grand Rapids, MI)

Grand Rapids, MI: BCAM was a chance for High School teams to showcase not only how good their teams are but also some of the brightest stars in the state. The coaches filled the sidelines, and the players and teams did not disappoint. Here are a few girls who stood out.

Layla Stewart 2027 Guard Belleville
Layla looks fully recovered from injury and is back to form. She is quick off the bounce, creating space with ease, and shooting the ball with confidence and consistency. Her explosiveness and shot-making ability make her a clear offensive threat once again.

Paisley Stephens 2028 Guard Belleville
Paisley is a true do-it-all guard; she was the talk of the weekend. Her impact on both ends stood out, scoring, facilitating, defending, and making winning plays. With her skill set and upside, she’s quickly emerging as a high-level prospect.

Harlem Simpson 2027 Guard Birmingham Groves
Harlem did everything but pop the popcorn, an all-around impact player and unquestioned leader on the floor. Her energy, poise, and ability to elevate teammates set the tone all weekend.

McKenley Reid 2027 Guard Bloomfield Hills Marian
Mack is poised and in control. She handled the ball at a high level and proved she can run a team. She is a strong decision-maker with great pace and leadership from the point.

Brooklyn Covert 2027 Guard Clarkston
Brooklyn is a Skilled and confident guard. She can shoot it from deep and create off the bounce. She is a tough cover with a versatile all-around game.

Bella Flavin 2028 Forward Clarkston
Bella is a reliable and fundamentally sound forward who consistently produces. She rebounds well, finishes strong inside, and does the little things that win games.

Evelyn Hoener 2029 Guard Detroit Country Day
A very skilled young guard with a confident scoring mindset. Plays beyond her years and knows how to put the ball in the basket from all levels.

Maddy McChester 2028 Guard Detroit Renaissance
Maddy is a young shooter with toughness—she doesn’t back down physically and takes real pride in her defense. She brings energy on both ends and competes every possession.

Baylor Lauinger 2027 Guard Goodrich
Baylor is an aggressive, playmaking guard who thrives off the bounce. She attacked defenders with confidence, created scoring opportunities for herself and others, and consistently put pressure on the defense. Her assertiveness and ability to break down defenders stood out.

Mallory Woiteshek 2027 Forward Grand Haven
Mallory is one of the weekend’s biggest stock risers. She showcased a complete game. She shot it with confidence, put it on the floor effectively, and dominated inside on both ends. Her versatility and impact were hard to miss.

Sophia Prins 2026 Guard Grand Rapids South Christian
Sophia is a quick, explosive guard who played downhill all weekend. She consistently put pressure on the defense and knocked down shots from deep, making her a tough cover throughout the event.

Kenley Slanger 2028 Guard Grand Rapids West Catholic
Kenley is a versatile guard who plays with a high IQ. She reads the game well, makes smart decisions, and impacts multiple areas. Her feel and adaptability make her a valuable asset on the floor.

Christina Dixon 2026 Guard Haslett
Christina is a guard with strong offensive skills and a deceptive, quick first step that keeps defenders off balance. She creates space effectively, shoots it well, and does a good job getting to the hoop.

Olivia Gadson 2027 Guard Holt
Olivia is a smooth, athletic guard with a very high skill set who makes plays look effortless. Her fluidity and creativity stand out, making her a constant threat on offense.

Mackenzie Duthie 2026 Wing Howell
Mackenzie is the team's heart, soul, and strength. She consistently plays with a relentless motor and unmatched toughness. She embraces physicality and uses it to her advantage on both ends of the floor. Her energy and grit set the tone, inspiring teammates and wearing down opponents. She is a true competitor who thrives in the trenches and never backs down from a challenge.

Meadow Cameron 2026 Wing Macomb Dakota
Meadow is a smooth, big guard who uses her size and length to create mismatches. She makes plays off the bounce with confidence and fluidity, combining athleticism and skill to impact the game in multiple ways.

Ellee Arnold 2028 Forward Midland
The unsung hero of one of my favorite teams to watch, she does all the dirty work with toughness and determination, despite the fact that the outstanding guards are the focus, she possesses the skill set to dominate inside, rebounding, finishing, and defending at a high level. A true backbone on both ends.

Karis Terwilliger 2027 Guard Mt Pleasant Sacred Heart
Karis is an aggressive guard who consistently attacked the basket and finished strong through contact. What stood out most was her relentless motor—she never backed down and played with great energy and determination throughout.

Jordan Ratliff 2027 Guard Orchard Lake St Mary’s
Jordan had a big day.  The crafty guard consistently found ways to get buckets. She was in her bag, playmaking and scoring, keeping the defense guessing all day. She was fun to watch.

Laney Larson 2027 Guard Orchard Lake St Mary’s
Back from injury, Laney was impressive by showing she could score from all over the court. Her versatility and confidence stood out, proving she’s ready to make a strong impact again.

Joslyn Ode 2028 Guard Saginaw Heritage
Also back from injury, Joslyn, the playmaking guard, showed strong court vision and decision-making. She ran the show smoothly and made key plays, looking like she was returning to form as one of the top 2028s in the state.

Makayla Schlorf 2026 Guard Tecumseh
Makayla, the SVSU Commit, is a quick guard with infectious energy and a winning mindset. She consistently made plays off the dribble, attacking the basket and keeping defenses off balance. Her competitiveness shines through every time she plays.

Emersen Holder 2028 Guard Warren Regina
Emersen is a tough guard with the ball on a string. She is a true PG1, effortlessly scoring and facilitating. She controlled the pace, made smart decisions, and kept the offense flowing smoothly. She is definitely one of the top PGs in her class.

Layanna Nemer 2027 Guard Wayne Memorial
Layanna is a crowd favorite and a deadly shooter who plays with extreme confidence. She steps up and consistently knocks down shots, energizing both her team and the fans.
