Swartz Creek: The Cagers invitational was a nice weekend to catch some teams we have not seen yet this spring and see how some of the teams have improved. The bracket play was intense and the competition was high. Here are a few players that stood out. PART 1
Lucy Moyer 2027 6’0 Forward Great Lakes Grind
Lucy is very skilled, with excellent footwork, good rebounding instincts, and a natural feel for scoring around the basket. She immediately caught my eye with her smooth running style and soft touch. Coaches should be heading North to check her out.
Kaila Hairston 2026 5’4" Guard Michigan Storm
Kayla is a lightning-quick guard with a tight handle and the ability to break down defenders at will. She Plays with great pace and creativity, making her a constant threat in transition and the half-court.
Amiyah Lambka 2028 5’6" Guard Michigan Prospects
Amiyah is an aggressive guard who thrives on attacking off the dribble and putting pressure on the defense. She has a Quick first step and can finish through contact, hit the jump shot, or create for others. She was fun to watch!
Evah Smith 2028 5’11" Forward Michigan Storm
Evah is a strong, physical forward who plays with intensity. She rebounds aggressively, defends tough in the paint, and finishes well through contact. Smith is A hard worker who brings consistent energy.
Halle Powell 2028 5’8" Guard Michigan Storm
Halle is a dependable, all-around guard who does a bit of everything. She handles the ball well, can score it, defends with intensity, and makes smart plays on both ends. She was a consistent contributor all weekend long.
Madleen Hussein 2026 5’4" Guard Michigan Prospects
Madleen is a crafty, creative guard who plays with flair and confidence. She sees the floor well, makes smart plays, brings great energy, and plays the game like she is having the time of her life. Definitely a favorite to watch on the coach's row!
Cecilia Tuczak 2027 5’7" Guard O3 Academy
Cecilia is a scrappy, high-motor guard who thrived in transition. She defended hard, pushed the pace, and consistently made hustle plays to impact the game. Her motor was impressive!
Angela Meggisson 2026 5’9" Guard Michigan Storm
Angela is an athletic lefty wing with a smooth shooting stroke who stood out in transition. This weekend, she was all over the floor, making plays on both ends.
Emersyn Bachelder 2026 5’8" Guard Michigan Cobras
Emersyn is a skilled guard who scored the ball well all weekend. She finished strong at the basket, knocked down outside shots, and consistently found ways to put points on the board.
Caroline Paluk 2026 5’9" Guard Michigan Storm
Caroline is a quiet, reliable wing who consistently gets the job done. She plays smart, stays composed, and makes solid contributions on both ends without needing the spotlight. She is a massive piece of the Storm's success.
Kaylyn Sowers 2026 5’7" Guard Clarkston Warriors
Kaylyn is a knockdown shooter who brings more than just scoring. She defends hard, moves the ball well, and makes smart plays all over the court. Definitely more than just a shooter!
Lainey Claramunt 2028 5’6" Wing Hoopers Clinic
Lainey is an aggressive wing who attacks the basket with purpose. She finishes through contact and puts pressure on the defense every time she touches it. Her skill set, physicality, and soft touch are a hard combo to deal with. This youngster is going to be a problem for defenses in the future.
