Livonia, MI: In just over a week, we do this thing for real, but for now teams are using every opportunity to get better and challenge themselves against some of the best. Today at Schoolcraft college in the Mitten Opening scrimmage talented teams and talented players were on display and by the looks of it They are ready to go! Here are a few teams and players that stood out.
Tatiana Wilson 2025 6’1" Center Ambassador Prep Ontario
Tatiana was pretty dominant in the lane scoring the ball. She did a great job establishing position, demanding the ball and using her soft touch at the rim. She shot it well from 15 and was of the best post players I watched all day.
Paisley Stephens 2028 5’11" Guard Belleville
Still getting better and that is a scary thought! The more comfortable the rising 9th grader becomes the better she looks. An elite passer with a sweet stroke from three and a non-stop motor on defense, paisley is the real deal. Playing with some of the best players in the state on arguably the best team in the state she fits right in!
Christine Chinemulu 2026 6’0" PF Belleville
CC as she is affectionately known off Exit 190, is not only one of the most improved players I watched all day, but she is big piece of the Belleville puzzle. She is a physical rebounder who does a great job on both ends of the floor dominating the inside. She has a nice soft touch, and she did a great job finishing in the lane in transition and in the flow of the offense. Look for her and Iyana Stephens to be one of the best one two interior punches in the state.
Elle Robak 2026 5’9" Guard Clarkston
Elle had a great day scoring the ball for the Wolves. She can shoot it from deep and has a nice assortment of moves to get to the basket off the bounce. She did a great job against the tough suffocating Belleville defense scoring 20 points with a variety of finishes. She wrapped up the day with a GLIAC offer and I look for more to come!
Addison Chase 2026 5’6" Guard Dexter
Addison looked to be in mid-season form today playing with a ton of confidence and shooting the ball at a high clip. She did a great job attacking off the dribble and taking what the defense gave her. In the last game of the day for her squad she was on fire hitting 5 threes’.
Aizlyn Albanese 2025 5’11" Guard Farmington Hills Mercy
One of the best shooters in the state, she didn’t waste any time reminding everyone how pure her shot is. Moving well without the ball she always finds a way to get open and knock down the shot. Aizlyn looks to be stronger and more physical with the bounce which sounds like trouble for her future opponents.
Malia Taylor 2028 5’5" Guard Ferndale
Malia is super quick with a tight handle who made play after play off the bounce for her squad today. She attacked the lane dropping sweet dimes and scored in transition. Ferndale is a high- octane offense that Taylor dictates and runs the show in, her speed and ability is right up there with any guard they face regardless of class.
Reese Lape 2027 5’11" Guard Grass Lake
Reese is one of the most versatile players in the gym, she uses her great length and athletic ability to affect the game in many ways. She can slash and score, score off the bounce and shoot it from deep. I look for Lape to have a big time break out season!
Lyla Valentine 2028 5’4" Guard HEA Firebirds
Lyla had a great day for the Firebirds. She shot it well from deep, controlled the tempo with the bounce and made some pretty passes for easy baskets. Only a 2028 she plays and sees the game well beyond her years, making her one of the top PGs in her class. Look out for Valentine in the future.
Molly McLeod 2025 5’5" Guard Marian
Molly was in typical form today knocking in bombs from deep. Today she did a great job using her three ball to set up the drive, taking advantage of her defender beating them off the dribble for a pull up or an assist. Molly has a lot on her plate this year for Marian but if you know Molly you know she is ready to lead and fire away!
McKynley Gaddy 2027 5'7" Guard Michigan Center
If you want a smart, do it all guard who plays with an extremely high motor look no further then 2027 Mckynley Gaddy. Playing on or off the ball, she always finds a way to make the right play. She can score when needed, run the show when needed and she always plays at full go. As a former PG and a Coach, she is a coach’s dream. Look for her to have a huge year for Michigan Center leading them to a ton of victories.
Brooklyn Isom 2028 5’9" Guard Saginaw Heritage
Isom is one of the many future stars on the heritage team and depending on the day either one can take center stage. Today Brooklyn did a great job showing her value by doing a little bit of everything to help her team. Her versatility was on display the way she handled the ball, scored in transition, locked up on defense and got to the basket off the bounce. Isom has a big time skill set and I look for her to be a very important piece to the Heritage puzzle for the next four years.
Gabby Gerald 2025 6’0" Forward Wayne Memorial
Gabby was all over the floor today. Her hustle and physical dominance was evident in every possession on both ends of the floor. She is physical and scores through traffic in the paint, holds the paint down on defense and rebounds the ball at a high clip. If there is a loose ball, she was all over it she has the intangibles that just can’t be taught.
