Hamilton, OH: This past weekend, the Midwest was well represented in Louisville and Ohio. From 2025 prospects, who stood out on the big stage, down to 2028 prospects, who put a stamp on their arrival on the circuit, the Midwest will be a hotbed for recruiting for the next few years, and we have some high-powered names to lead the way. Here are a few who took advantage of their week on the road—PART Two!!
Harlem Simpson 2027 Guard Michigan Crossover EYBL 16U
Harlem put her stamp on the EYBL this weekend with outstanding play, a great floor game, and a no backdown mindset against any and everyone that she faced. She shot the ball well from deep. She was super aggressive off the bounce, attacking the hoop, taking the hit, and finishing through traffic. What’s scary for opponents is Harlem plays the game like a seasoned vet already and she has three years to still play high school ball.
Ella Swanson 2026 Post Michigan Crossover EYBL 16U
Ella is a workhorse for the Crossover. She plays physical and uses a mix of great positioning, hard work and great hands to rebound the basketball at a high clip. She is relentless on both ends, fighting for loose balls and securing the board. Throughout the weekend she seemed to get more and more involved, she was catching and finishing in the lane drawing a number of fouls.
Erin Thomas 2028 Wing Sports City Angels EYBL 16U
Erin is a long, athletic wing with a smooth handle and a big time inside-outside skill set. She dominates the game scoring at all three levels, she is special out in transition using her speed length and athletic ability to get to the hoop. Erin is easily one of the best 2028 in the country.
Mariah Sain 2026 Guard Michigan Crossover EYBL 17U
Mariah was a bright spot for the Crossover this weekend with her stellar play and super competitive mindset. Mariah was extremely effective playing downhill, attacking the hoop, and physically and athletically finishing through contact. She was a joy to watch in transition, using her quickness to fly up and down the floor, making plays.
Pria Johnson-Musah 2025 Wing Michigan Crossover EYBL 17U
Pria was a big-time rebounder all weekend. She did a great job battling for position keeping offensive possessions alive and defensively being a force down low cleaning the boards. She is not just a rebounder. She also showed a nice shot from 15 and scored in the paint.
Swynn Jackson 2026 Guard Ops Jordan 16U
Swynn put on an absolute clinic on how to be a versatile guard. She played and covered the 1 through 4, she was allusive off the bounce using a smooth handle, great vision and a deceptively quick first step to drop off defenders get in the lane and create for her or a teammate. She was on fire from the outside, knocking down the pretty left-hand jumper with defenders hanging all over her.
Carley Moellering 2026 Guard OPS Jordan
Need a triple? No problem. Need an assist? No problem. Need a drive and finish? No problem. On the floor, there is not much Carley can’t do for her team. She had a big weekend making plays and helping her Ops team secure some big victories.
Xyanna Walton 2026 Wing Mac Irvine Lady Fire P24
Xyanna has an all-around game that will bode very well for whatever school lucks out and lands her. She has great size and length for a guard, she plays defense at a high level, she is physical, and she has a knack for just getting buckets. She can create off the bounce, she scores in traffic, she shoots it from deep, and she excels in transition. Waltons offer sheet is growing, and trust me, she’s not even close to being done.
Cece Arico 2027 Guard Sports City Angels EYBL 17U
Cece is a big, versatile guard who usually did her damage playing downhill and punishing defenders with physical finishes through contact. This weekend she remained in aggressive mode attacking off the bounce scoring and setting up her teammates, but she also added a consistent three ball which made her tough to stop. She hit multiple threes from all over the floor, standing still and off the bounce. Cece, playing up 17U, is one of the top 2027 prospects in the Midwest.
Jordan Schully 2025 Guard Sports City Angels EYBL 17U
Jordan is a quick and crafty guard off the bounce who did a great job beating her defender to the basket and scoring in traffic. She is a big-time shooter with deep range and a crafty ability to find her shot. She competes on defense and rebounds well for a guard.
Janielle Turner 2028 Guard Queens 15U
Janielle is a highly active youngster who plays well beyond her years with great motor and confidence. She plays tough defense and rebounds extremely well for a guard. This weekend, she did a great job shooting the rock from deep. She got super hot in one game, hitting multiple threes to open up a large lead for the Queens. Only a 2028 Janielle and the rest of the youngsters on the Queens squad are going to be special!
Vanessa and Ava Rodriguez 2026 Guards Michigan Mystics Ruh 17U P24
Their games speak for themselves as individuals, but some of the clutch performances they put together this weekend deserve a double mention. The twins were clutch in some big games for the Mystics, knocking down big shots, making big plays off the bounce, and using their quickness to get to the hoop and finish over taller defenders. Ava and Vanessa had the coaches' row buzzing this weekend!
