East Lansing, MI: The Michigan State Team Camp set a high standard for team camps with an impressive stage, setting, and format. Belleville High School emerged as the victor in the Green Bracket, while Holt High School claimed the White Bracket. Here are some standout players I had the opportunity to observe on Day Two of the camp!

Gabby Helsom 2026 Guard Homestead HS (Indiana)
Gabby plays with an unbelievable motor. She is a light’s out shooter with great range, she is aggressive scoring in many ways, attacking the basket, cutting off the ball, posting up and in transition. Gabby did a great job leading a young group to the title game, making big time plays on both ends of the floor.

Joplin Yoder 2025 Wing Hiland HS (Ohio)
Joplin had a great day, showing her versatility in scoring the ball. She plays with a great feel for the game, taking what the defense gives her. She shot it well from deep, got to the basket and made the right play from the high and low post. Joplin was very instrumental in her team’s success on both ends of the floor, playing tough defense, rebounding, and playmaking.

Anna Wypych 2025 Guard Rockford HS
Anna is a do it all guard who excels in all facets of the game. She is the top ball handler, a dynamic playmaker with a high IQ, great vision, and a great passer.  She scores in multiple ways, making it hard to key on her. She can shoot it from deep, get to the basket off the bounce, and she is a guard who loves to post up smaller guards with great footwork. She is one of the best rebounders for a guard, and she takes pride on the defensive end. Anna is one of the favorites for Miss Basketball in Michigan.

Sydney Mobley 2027 Post Big Walnut (Ohio)
Sydney is one of the best players in the country, and right away, in a big-time matchup with Belleville, she showed why. She has super soft hands, great feet, unbelievable court awareness, and the ability to affect the game on both ends of the floor. Sydney scored in the paint, knocked down the jumper, brought the ball up against pressure, and made great pin-point passes to teammates. Sydney’s ceiling is crazy, and I can’t wait to watch the growth!

Remy Largent 2027 Guard Big Walnut (Ohio)
Remy plays with a big-time desire to win and be great. Her passion and fight did not go unnoticed to anyone in the gym. She backs down from no one, loves to mix it up for rebounds and loose balls, and her intensity in playing on the ball defense was a joy to watch. Her biggest strength is shooting the rock. Remy has a quick release, deep range, and extreme confidence, and she did a great job moving without the ball to find her spots.  Remy impressed me quite a bit; I’m a fan!

Layla Stewart 2027 Guard Orchard Lake St Mary’s HS
Layla is a straight bucket. She is smooth off the bounce, creating her shot with an elite handle, a quick first step, and a sweet stroke. She doesn’t use extra energy; she is efficient and accurate, and she is impossible to stop when she is in her zone. Layla is a competitor who gets after it on defense and rebounds well for a guard. I see a big year coming for the rising sophomore.

Olivia Gadson 2027 Guard Holt HS
Olvia is a natural scorer. She is a versatile guard who does a great job breaking down the defense off the bounce, making plays at the hoop, or dropping a dime to a teammate. She is a tough guard who effectively scores through contact, draws the foul, and finishes. Olivia is a big-time player for help who made all the plays needed to lead them to the White Bracket Championship!  CAMP CHAMPION

Rylan Buschell 2025 Guard Belleville HS
Rylan is the maestro of Coach Jason Wilkins high powered offense. She weaves through the defense with an elite handle and great vision and has the ability to drop next-level passes to her teammates for a basket. She uses her quickness to get to the hoop and has a collection of finishes that allows her to score in traffic. Rylan’s biggest strength is the way she leads the Belleville nonstop defensive pressure. She is all over the floor getting deflections, locking up the ball, and creating offense out of defense. Rylan looks like she is ready to take the next big step in her game! CAMP CHAMPION

Sydney Savoury 2027 Guard Belleville HS
Sydney is a professional scorer. She is so smooth with the rock; she shoots it at a crazy high clip from deep and physically attacks the basket, daring anyone to get in her way. She shows the ability to score through, over, and around the defense. She has spurts during games where she goes on eight to ten-point outbursts, scoring from all over the floor. It looked as if she hurt herself during game one, but she finished the game dominating, scoring the team's last 12 points. Sydney played the second game, not showing any weakness before shutting it down for game three after leading the Ville to two big victories. CAMP CHAMPION

Se’Crette Crter 2026 Guard Belleville HS
Camp MVP Carter went crazy today. She stamped herself a definite top 5 player in the 2026 class with a high-level scoring exhibition all day. She was on fire from three, hitting shots from deep, hitting pull ups off the bounce, and shaking and baking her way to the basket for easy buckets. When Belleville needed a basket, Se’Crette answered with a big shot. Defensively, she was all over the floor, jumping passing lanes, stripping the ball, and helping the post players rebound.  CAMP MVP CAMP CHAMPION
