Belleville, MI: Wilkins Report Summer league is a great escape from the scorching heat outside, but some girls and teams were just as hot inside the gym tonight. Here are a few that caught my eye!!

Malia Taylor 2028 Guard Ferndale HS
Malia is a quick guard with a tight handle who gets up and down the floor, pushing in transition and creating off the bounce. She did a great job hounding the ball defensively, causing havoc on the offense. She has a good nose for the ball and a great feel for the game. She looks to be one of the special 2028s in the state.

Christine Chimelu 2026 Wing Belleville HS
Christine had a great day of play. She was all over the floor handling the ball, knocking down the perimeter shot, and scoring in transition. Her biggest flex today was rebounding the basketball on both ends of the floor, she was super aggressive working hard to secure the board and keep possessions alive or start the break. It was an evening for Chin.

Mya Tate 2025 Guard Windsor United
Mya plays with pace and patience. She has the ball on a string and showed a nice ability to shake her defender and create a shot. She has great vision and did a good job dropping dimes to her teammates.

Ariah Hutchings 2025 Guard Windsor United
Ariah is cat quick with the rock, putting the ball on the floor and getting to the hoop off the bounce. She did a great job of recognizing the double team and making the right read. She was aggressive, attacking the basket and finishing through contact.

Chloe Bullinger 2026 Guard Tecumseh
Chloe is like the Swiss Army knife on the floor whatever you need she can get it done. She is one of the fastest players on the floor and she excels in transition flying up the wings making plays. She defends st a high level guarding any position 1-4.

Lauren Kilbarger 2025 Wing Tecumseh
Lauren had a big-time evening for Tecumseh. She reminded everyone just how big of a piece she is to the high-powered puzzle that they are building. She plays with a high motor battling for loose balls and rebounds. She knocks down the open shot and showed a nice skill set and an assortment of moves in the open court scoring in transition.

Zahra Richardson 2028 Guard Ferndale HS
Zahra has a sweet stroke from 3. She has a quick release and the ability to put it on the floor to create her shot. She plays with a ton of confidence for a youngster, and she physically competes on both ends of the floor. Another one of Ferndale’s 2028s that is ready to make a big splash on the High School scene this year.

Alena Blumberg 2025 Wing Dexter HS
Alena was unstoppable tonight. She was all over the floor making plays using her strength, quickness, and ability to just get buckets to dominate. She scored from 3, put it on the floor, attacked the defense, making sweet finishes at the hoop. On the floor with the dominant backcourt for Wayne and other great players, Alena was one of the best players in the building tonight!

Cora Williams 2025 Post Father Gabriel Richard HS
Cora is arguably one of the strongest players in the state, but she is not just strength. She is light on her feet, with nice footwork and a soft touch. She runs the floor well, catches on the move, and finishes in traffic. Playing with a loaded backcourt, Cora is the perfect fit to rebound, score, and defend.

Mariah Cross 2026 Guard Wayne Memorial HS
Mariah was on fire tonight. Using her normal, super quick first step, she got anywhere she wanted on the floor, finishing in the lane and in transition. Tonight, she decided to hit the three ball and she did it at a high clip. She started off the night hitting six threes in the first game and continued to stay hot all evening. Mariah is already hard to contain, and if she is going to shoot it like she did today, it’s going to be a wrap on slowing her down!
