Jackson, MI: While some people were on the lake for Memorial Day, a group of teams and players gathered at Jackson Community College for the Memorial Day classic. On day two, some talented players stood out. Here are a few who caught our eye.

2028 Guard Kenna Taylor  Always 100 Elite
Kenna is a tough, gritty guard who you can depend on to do it all, and she does it at 100% every play. She creates offense off the dribble, can hit the outside shot, and battles for every 50/50 ball and rebound on both ends. She made big shots and big stops to help her team go undefeated this weekend.

2027 Wing Sydney Black Michigan Drive Premier S40 Hutson
Sydney is a combo guard that consistently delivers for her squad. She has the full arsenal on offense, hitting shots from deep, attacking off the bounce, and making the right read and pass to a teammate for an assist. Sydney is physical and is a big time rebounder from the guard spot, look for her to have a big time July.

2028 PG Madison Repicky Michigan Mystics S40
Madison has the stuff that draws eyes to her immediately. She has a shifty handle, nice vision, can shoot it and a tough ability to beat her girl off the bounce and make a play. She plays with great pace and court awareness. For a young PG, she is on her way to being a pretty special lead guard.

2027 Guard Gracie Smith  Always 100
Gracie is a super quick guard with a tight handle and no back down in her system. She aggressively attacks the basket, finishing over and around bigger defenders. She was a menace on defense, using her quickness and physicality to harass the ball.

2028 Guard Maddy McChester Michigan Crossover Jr EYBL
Maddy can shoot the rock. She was a strong guard who did a great job of moving without the ball and finding her shot. She has a sweet stroke from 3 but also showed she could put it on the floor and create a shot. She competed at a high level in all aspects of the game, taking pride in rebounding and defending.

2027 Guard Brooke Starkey Michigan Mystics South
Brooke is a scrappy, quick guard. She shot it well, but what made her stand out was her motor and her ability to push the basketball and make the right read to make a play. She was on the go all weekend and was a terror in transition. Brooke is a tough defender who competes every play.

2027 Guard Elise Bullock Michigan Mystics South
Elise is a versatile guard who makes plays all over the floor. She made plays off the bounce, slashed, and scored in transition, but what separated her this weekend was her ability to make shots. She had the three ball falling, looking very comfortable knocking down shots from deep.

2027 Wing Leah Brink Michigan Drive Premier Select
Leah has a solid skill set, showing she could create her own shot, shoot it from deep, and finish in traffic. She has great size for a guard and did a great job using her length and physicality to make plays. She looks to be one of the future building blocks of the Drive program.

2025 Guard Sophia Bussell Michigan Mystics Black
Sophia is a light’s out shooter with unlimited range.  She has a pretty stroke and a nice ability to find her shot. This weekend, She did a great job of doing a little bit of everything. She handled the ball and showed nice vision and the ability to make the right pass to a teammate for a bucket. She is definitely one of my most improved players of the spring session.

2025 Guard Maurisa Mikus (MJ) Michigan Mystics S40
MJ is an extremely smart guard who has a nice handle, elite vision, and an old school approach to making the right play with the rock. She has the physical skills to play both guard spots, she can shoot it, beat her girl off the bounce and showed that she has some crafty finishes around the hoop. I look for MJ to have a HUGE July for the Mystics.

2028 PG Makayla Campbell Michigan Crossover Jr EYBL
Makayla is the future PG for the Crossover, and I would say the future is in good hands. She has a tight handle a little wiggle with the rock and a nice ability to get to the hoop and make a play. She has a nice shot from the outside and works hard on the defensive end.

2026 Guard Se’crette Carter Michigan Crossover EYBL
Se’crette has been playing well lately, and nothing has changed this weekend. Moving fluidly without the ball, Carter did a great job of finding her spots on the floor to get her shot off. She not only hit the three consistently but also put it on the floor and made plays off the dribble. Se’crette has really stepped up on defense as well, working hard in the pressure defense, forcing turnovers, and causing havoc. Look for her offer to increase bug time this July.

2027 Guard Carley Chacho Michigan Drive Premier Select
Carley had a nice tournament, using her length, ball handling ability, and toughness to make plays for herself or a teammate. She did a great job slashing to the basket and finishing through contact. She showed up huge in a big win over the other Drive team, making big shots, rebounding, and playing tough defense.

2025 Wing Harmony Laker Michigan Drive Premier P24
Harmony is a do it all versatile wing who can play and guard 1-5. She is physical enough to play on the interior and has the skill set to play on the perimeter. She can shoot it from the outside and has the ball handling ability to create her own shot. Playing without Wypych this weekend, she was asked to do a lot more, and she stepped up and performed at a high level.

2025 Guard Sakiya Turner Midwest Power
Sakiya is a big guard who fills the stat sheet in every category. She has a sick handle, great vision, and a nice ability to finish through contact. She rebounds at a high clip on both ends and is a willing passer. Sakiya is definitely a 2025 to pay attention to heading into July.
