Ypsilanti, MI: April Showers was big time; the competition was tough, the crowds were large, and some individuals and teams showed that they were ready to make some noise this Spring and Summer.

EllaMay Cooper Guard 2027 Wisconsin flight 17U EYBL
Cooper Is a playmaking guard who did a great job dictating the offense flow with her shifty handle, vision, passing, and decision-making. Her court awareness, creativity in passing, and ability to penetrate defenses put pressure on the defense all weekend.

Naomi Benson 2025 Forward Sports City Angels 17U EYBL
Naomi dominated the game with her physicality, blocking shots, finishing in the lane, and rebounding at a high clip. She seemed to always get buckets in the lane whenever the games got close. Once she caught it deep in the post, it was pretty much wraps for her defender, as Benson was too strong to stop.

Rylee Bess 2025 Guard Sports Angels 17U EYBL
Rylee did a great job pushing the ball, running the show, and creating scoring opportunities for her teammates. Her decision-making, court vision, and ability to hit the trey ball made her tough to guard.

Jhalina Guy 2028 Mac Irvin Lady Fire 15U
Jhalina is a super athletic guard who thrives with the ball in her hands. Defending Guy is a pick your poison type event because she can effectively shoot it from deep, beat you off the bounce and she does a great job taking the hit and finishing through contact. Jhalina plays with a ton of confidence and a ton of talent, which is a scary combination for any defense trying to defend her.

Mariah Sain 2026 Michigan Crossover 17U EYBL
Mariah is relentless on the court, constantly in attack mode, penetrating the defense and creating scoring chances for her and her teammates. Sains' attacking mentality pressures opposing defenses and forces them to react to her speed and pace, which usually leads to Mariah shooting free throws. Moriah is one of the most explosive guards in the state, and her Jump shot is improving steadily, which makes her impossible to contain.

Riley Schellhammer 2028 Indiana Elite 3SSB 16U
Riley plays the game well beyond her years. Her maturity, pace and IQ make her a very special talent. She shoots at a high level all over the floor, and she uses a nice handle and great vision to set up her teammates for easy buckets. Defensively, she is aggressive and does a great job playing tough on-the-ball defense and off-the-ball defense, jumping gaps, and playing the passing lanes.

Saniyah Hall 2026 Wing Legends U P24
Saniyah is the real deal. She possesses a diverse skill set, excelling in all facets of the game, scoring whenever and however she wants, playmaking, rebounding, and defense. Her versatility allows her to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Easily, the Showers MVP Saniyah did it all!

Bayli Stewart 2025 Guard Michigan Drive Premier S40
Bayli is a blur in transition, getting up and down the court, scoring, and applying pressure on the defense. She is like a magnet for loose balls and rebounds with an extremely high motor she regularly out hustles everyone on the floor extending possessions for her squad. I know I am stuck on repeat but Bayli will be a steal for whoever signs her.

Lucia France 2025 Forward Michigan Drive Premier 17U P24
Lucia combines a commanding physical presence with a nice skill set to be a consistent force on the court. Her abilities allow her to dominate in the paint, whether grabbing rebounds, finishing around the rim, or holding it down defensively. Lucia is a big-time stat stuffer for the Drive.

Tatianna Mason 2027 Wing Legends U P24 16U
Tatianna was a frightening physical presence, attacking the lane and finishing through contact. What caught my eye the most was her ability to also stretch the floor with the jumper, create her own shot and she easily was one of the toughest competitors in the gym. The future for this 2027 wing is crazy bright!

Kendyl Smith 2026 Guard Legends U P24 16U
New uniform, no problem, play some off the ball, no problem, all the changes for Smith did nothing to slow her down she still was the outstanding leader, playmaker and bucket getter that has put her stamp on the state of Michigan as one of the top players in the 2026 class. Kendyl knocked down the three finished at the basket, usually while getting fouled, and found her teammates for easy buckets all weekend long.

Jakiah Brumfield 2025 Guard Michigan Drive Premier 17U P24
Jakiah is one of those coaches dream type players. She plays with relentless hustle, tenacity, and determination. She does whatever it takes to secure the win for her squad, whether it's diving for loose balls, pestering opponents on defense, or making clutch shots in crucial moments. Brumfield does it all.

Gabby Helsom 2026 Guard Always100 3SSB 2026
Gabby is deadly from long range, knocking down shots from beyond the arc. She moves well without the ball, does a great job of finding her spots, and shoots with accuracy and confidence. Gabby was a big-time addition to an already loaded 2026 squad.

CeCe Arico 2027 Guard Sports City Angels 17U EYBL
CeCe Is an extremely talented physical guard who does a great job creating scoring chances for herself and her teammates. Only a 2027 she has already mastered the balance of dominating by taking what the defense gives her, scoring the ball at will or playing downhill beating her defender off the bounce to set up scoring opportunities for others. CeCe plays the game with an advanced basketball IQ, and she’s still learning the game, which should be scary for all in her way.

Naja Winston 2026 Guard Sports City Angels 17U EYBL
Naja gets buckets. She can score in many different ways, whether shooting threes, driving to the hoop, or hitting mid-range jumpers. Winston scored the ball all over the floor. Naja played with great pace and poise, never getting rattled or letting the defense speed her up.

Alice Max 2025 Wing Michigan Mystics Ruh
Alice had arguably one of the best weekends of the tourney. She is a versatile scoring threat who drained threes and scored in the paint with relative ease. She did a great job moving and making plays with or without the ball; she was definitely one of the more reliable scoring options throughout the weekend.

Sydney Savoury 2027 Guard Legends U P24
Sydney Savoury is elite, the physically strong guard is a dominant force on the court, she impacts the game in multiple ways. Her strength allows her to excel in driving to the basket, finishing through contact, and posting up against smaller defenders. Sydney shoots it from 3 at a high clip and also possesses excellent playmaking abilities. Defensively, she is able to guard multiple positions effectively. Only 2027. It’s scary for many who have to face her for three more years!!

Lilly Williams 2026 Center Michigan Mystics 17U Ruh
Lilly played with some of the most passion and intensity I have seen out of her. She dominated the paint, altering the game with her presence through scoring, rebounding, and blocking shots. In one game, with the result in limbo, Lilly took over and scored 8 straight in the last 2 minutes, along with multiple blocks and altered shots. Lily is a special talent; the more she plays, the better she gets. The sky is the limit for the MSU Commitment.

Alli Zajac 2025 Wing Michigan Drive Premier 17U
Alli has always been dominant in the paint but now she has turned in to a complete dual threat effecting the game both inside and out. She is super-efficient in the paint, using a soft touch and physicality to get a great position to score, and she also is very capable of stepping outside the arc and shooting the long ball. Alli looks to be on her way to having a huge spring and summer.
