Grand Rapids, MI: The Mitten Summer Showdown at Grand Valley State University hosted over 70 teams from various divisions preparing for the second half of the NCAA evaluation period. Coaches from DII, DIII, NAIA, and Juco attended the event, and we identified numerous outstanding prospects throughout the weekend.

2024 Katelyn Baney | West Michigan Drive Premier S40
Katelyn is a wing with great size and skill who showed this weekend that she can really shoot it and make plays off the dribble. She played a big role in her team’s championship, rebounding at a high clip and playing tough physical interior defense. Katelyn put everyone on notice that she is fully recovered from injury and ready to make a lot of noise next week at the S40 Finals.

2024 Lily Zeinstra | West Michigan Drive Premier S40
Lily playing in her last ever travel ball tournament, went out with a BANG. She was consistently good all weekend, scoring the ball at will, making plays all over the floor, and willing her team to victories. Down big in the Championship game Lily decided to take over, hitting threes from deep, getting to the basket, and forcing turnovers on Defense, which led to transition buckets for her squad. For 5 minutes, Lily was the best player on the floor full of Division one and two recruits!

2024 Kendall Standfest | Michigan Mystics Finest S40
Kendall plays the game with a great pace and a great feel for the game. She is always under control and takes what the defense gives her. She is never rattled or out of control. She can score off the bounce, shoot it from all over, and do a great job slashing and finishing in traffic. The Huskies got a good one who is college ready to contribute!

2026 Nicole James | Michigan Crossover 15U EYBL
Nicole is a force on the interior for the Crossover. She is very physical and aggressive and does a great job attacking the basket with force. She was a menace on the boards and did a great job using a soft touch to finish over defenders. Each time out, she seems to get better, which is scary for the rest of the state. One thing I noticed this weekend was her intensity and commitment on the defensive end; she did a great job protecting the paint and rebounding the basketball. The sky is the limit for this young post player!

2026 Kamaria Lowe | Michigan Crossover 15U EYBL
Kamaria is long and agile. She has great hands, and she moves with great footwork and quickness. She runs the floor very well, and she thrived in transition finishing at the basket. She is relentless on the boards, working hard, pursuing rebounds, and keeping offensive possessions alive. Look for her teaming with James to be a powerful twin tower tandem for the next few years for the Crossover.

2025 Jamilah Jackson | Max Irvin Fire 2025
Jamilah is a quick guard with a nice size and handles who did a great job getting downhill and making plays for her and her teammates off the bounce. She locked up on defense and played with a ton of energy.

2025 Jaslynn Ward | Michigan Drive Premier S40 Piaz
Jaslynn played very well this weekend; she was super aggressive with the bounce beating her defenders and making plays for her or a teammate. In some of the bigger games this week, she had to stretch her offensive arsenal, and she showed she could shoot it from deep, knocking down some big threes and scoring from all three levels. Jaslynn is a strong physical guard who is a super competitor; she is definitely on my stock riser list for the weekend.

2026 Olivia Gratz | The Factory Basketball NE2K
Olivia is a ball of energy playing ball; she was on the go all weekend, making plays with her dribble penetration and craftiness to elude defenders. She was exceptional in transition and out hustling her opponents for loose balls, rebounds, and any other winning play that needed to be made. She was a big piece to the Factory puzzle that made it to the Championship game beating some teams on the way that some had penciled into the final game. Gratz made it on my Rising Star list for the weekend.

2026 Isabella Sapia | The Factory Basketball NE2K
Isabella had a great weekend doing a little bit of everything for the Factory. She rebounded at a high clip, she was aggressive, scoring the rock, and she did a great job playmaking out of the mid to high post. She showed a very nice touch scoring the ball inside and out, and played with a high motor on defense, locking in and making defense a priority.

2026 Makaila Crosby | MI Drive Premier S40 Crosby
Don’t let the size fool you Makaila is always one of the toughest, most competitive guards on the floor every game. She attacks relentlessly on offense scoring over and around taller players; she is a blur in transition, causing havoc on defense and turning it into offensive opportunities for her team. She has great vision and does a great job sharing the rock.

2025 Alice Max | Michigan Mystics S40 C-High
Alice is an athletic long wing who is super effective in scoring in the paint with great footwork, a nice package of moves, and a soft touch. What makes her different is her ability to also step out to three and shoot it at a high level. This weekend she hit some big-time threes in tight situations and was dominant during spurts of the game when she needed to be. She is aggressive, rebounding the basketball, and plays defense with a lot of intensity.

2024 Audrey Mahoney | MAC Irvin Fire S40
Audrey arguably had the best jump shot in the building this weekend. Playing in the Fires high powered offense, she finds ways to get open and knocks down the three ball regularly; she also did a great job getting to the basket and finishing in traffic. She is a great shooter, but she is not just a shooter; she rebounded the ball and was a big factor in the Fires transition game, running the floor and putting pressure on the defense.

20205 Breanna Gamble Jones | Michigan Crossover 16U EYBL
Breanna had a great weekend slashing and scoring the rock for the Crossover. She was super aggressive, catching on the wing and attacking the basket, she showed a collection of finishes around the rim over and around the defender. Playing on a short handed squad, she did a great job filling the voids, helping them reach the Championship game by rebounding, running the floor, and locking up on the defensive end.

2024 Devin Pooter Hagemann | Michigan Crossover 17U EYBL
Pooter is one of the best PGs in the state, and every time out, she does some things that remind you of that. This weekend she played exceptionally in transition knocking down the triple, getting to the basket, or hitting the pull up. She has great vision, a tight handle, and a great passer. She has a great feel for the game and finds her teammates in a position to score. Devin is wrapping up one of the state's most successful travel ball careers; she has been a pleasure to watch and evaluate. Whoever is lucky enough to get her will have a top tier floor general and a program changer.

2025 Ali Zajac | Michigan Drive Premier
Ali played great this weekend; she was super-efficient, scoring in the paint and dominating the interior. She shot the ball very well from the outside, hitting the three, putting it on the floor, and attacking the basket from the wing spot. Ali has great hands and great feet and already has a college body; the more she is comfortable scoring on the perimeter, the scarier she gets.

2026 Mikaia Litza | Mac Irvin Lady Fire
Mikaia is so incredibly smooth, barely looking like she is giving an effort. She eases her way through and around the defense, scoring or dropping a dime. She has an unbelievable feel for the game, making plays with a superb handle and a full bag of combos to get wherever she wants on the floor. Don’t worry about the FIRE and the guards they are losing MAC has done it again with Mikaia Litza!!

2025 Alison Scheu | Always 100 Elite
Alison scored the ball at a high level this weekend. She is a physical guard who can shoot it from deep, attack the basket, and score in transition. She does a great job moving without the ball getting to her spots, she shot it well from three, and she did a great job getting to the basket, taking the hit, and still finishing at the rim.

2027 Rylee Canaan | Always 100 2026 Elite
Rylee answered every question I had in just a few trips up the floor. I wondered if she was tough, and she got to the basket and finished the one after getting hit; I wanted to see if she could pass, and she proceeded to make two nice passes to teammates who were cutting to the basket.  Can she shoot? She repeatedly answered that by knocking down threes from deep, sometimes back to back, just to ensure I caught it. Only a 2027, Rylee has the full package, and she is definitely up next!!
