Allendale, MI – As May and July is to travel ball, June is to school ball. June is the month that high school teams like to get a sneak peek of what they will be working with and what they need to work on before school begins. On Thursday &  Friday, teams from all over the state came to the campus of Grand Valley State University to participate in the BCAM Reaching Higher team camp. There were a bunch of DI, DII, DIII, and Junior colleges in the building. Although some teams were missing some key players for various reasons, the competitiveness was still high, and the games were fun to watch.

2024 Kate Stemmer | Saline
Kate looks better and better every time I see her. This week she played great on both ends applying big time pressure on defense and shooting the lights out on offense. Kate is a savvy vet who never gets rattled on the floor and is an outstanding leader.

2026 Keira Roehm | Saline
Keira plays with a sincere love for the game and can flat out shoot it with the best of them. She can find a way to get open and find her shots even when the whole team knows she is the shooter. She hit multiple threes (as many as 6) in each game and is playing confidently.

2025 Bayli Stewart | Parma Western
Bayli plays with an extremely high motor and did a great job putting it on the floor and getting to the basket for two. She is a physical wing who brings big time energy on defense and loves to share the ball and make the right play. Bayli is a program changer, and whoever invests time in recruiting and landing her will get a building block for the culture of their program.

2026 Aubree Allen | Parma Western
Aubree did a great job establishing position, demanding the rock, and worked very hard in the paint, finishing and making the right pass back out to her guards. Aubree improved throughout the two days and seems to be a sponge soaking up the coaching and consistently working to get better. She displays a nice soft touch but also plays the game with a physical edge needed to battle girls taller than her.

2024 Leila Wells | Chelsea
Leila was big time all day and showed why she is one of the top 2024 recruits in Michigan. She shot the perimeter shot at a very high clip, making it virtually impossible to guard her on the perimeter. She is a physical guard with a sweet handle, and when she wasn’t hitting the three, she was breaking down defenders getting anywhere she wanted on the floor, mostly in the lane, getting a bucket, or dropping a dime to a teammate. Leila is the truth!

2025 Cora Williams | Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard
Cora seems to be fitting right into Gabriel Richard up tempo style of play. Cora brings an unmatched physicality in the lane with a soft touch great hands and the ability to pretty much establish position on anyone. This week she did a great job rebounding the ball at a high clip and being a physical presence on defense.

2025 Rylan Buschell | Belleville
Unfortunately for Rylan, her week ended early with an injury in her first game, but fortunately for her, she went out with a BANG. Rylan played the PG spot for the Ville like a vet. She handled the rock under pressure, made the right pass, and showed she could finish through contact, but most noticeable is the way she was shooting the rock. Easily with about six triples before going down, she hit the pull up hit from deep while open, or with a hand up she was on fire.  Rylan plays with an extremely high IQ and a smooth under control pace. I think it’s time coach’s make the call; she is ready!!!

2024 Jaidyn Elam | Detroit Country Day.
Jaidyn is a tall physical guard with a nice handle and a nice shot, and she did a great job playing downhill, attacking off the dribble, and making plays in transition.  Jaidyn is the perfect complement to all the young ballers for DCD; she brings poise, leadership, defensive intensity, and BUCKETS!!

2026 Naiya Krispin | Detroit Country Day
Naiya plays so smooth and under control; she has a big-time handle and did a great job beating her defender off the bounce and making plays. Her shot was clicking from deep, too, as she made multiple threes forcing the defender to push up on her, making her drive even more effective. I look for Naiya to keep improving and having a huge season for DCD.

2024 Katelyn Baney | Paw Paw
I have watched Katelyn play AAU a ton of games, and she does a great job playing in her system and filling her role. Seeing her shine with her HS team and show all her skills was fun. Katelyn does a little bit of everything on the floor for her squad and does well. She shot it from beyond the arc, is an aggressive rebounder, handles the ball, and did a great job finding her teammates. Katelyn is a big-time skilled athlete who shows that she can fit in any system and plays the game the right way. Coaches take notes!!!

2024 Gabby Halliwill | Lansing Catholic
Gabby has an elite handle with great vision; she ran the show and got the ball where it needed to go in the Lansing Catholic high-powered offense. She did a great job shooting the ball off the bounce and was tough on the ball on defense. The right fit for Gabby in college and she is going to have a great career at the next level.

2024 Faith Jungwirth | Lansing Catholic
Very few work as hard and want it as much as Faith does. Faith is relentless in her efforts on the floor, playing with high energy and a crazy motor; she did a great job attacking the glass and scoring on put backs as well as in the post. She made big plays on defense, leading to transition baskets for her team. Faith knows how to win, and I promise you not many will outwork her.

2024 Gabby Reynolds | Holland West Ottawa
Smooth, never looks or gets rattled, always under control, big time athlete and big-time player. All of this can describe Gabby, but the one thing I saw this week was she is a super competitor. In the few games I watched, whenever the game got close, or her team was in need of a jump start, she just took over the game offensively, defensively, rebounding, breaking the press, whatever you needed, she delivered. It was great to see her so relaxed (as she put it) after her commitment, but if her relax leads to play like that, all her opponents are in trouble!!! (Committed to George Washington)

2024 Piper Risdon | Lowell
Piper is an exceptionally skilled wing that does it all for her squad. She can shoot it from the outside; she scored off the dribble, slashing, or in the post. She does a great job rebounding the basketball and plays with high energy, always finding her way to the ball. Piper is part of a nice trio with Jackson and Baker which should have Lowell right in the thick of the Breslin conversation next season.

2024 Harmonie Belton | East Kentwood
I finally got a chance to see East Kentwood, and right away, I was drawn to Belton.  She is a Super quick guard who had the rock on a string flying up and down the court, making plays and locking up on defesne. What impressed me the most was the way she shot the ball. If she wasn’t beating her defender off the bounce for a bucket or a pretty pass, then she was hitting a three and sometimes from DEEP. Look for Belton to be a big part of what looks like could be a very successful year for East Kentwood.

2025 Mariah Sain | Muskegon HS
One of the hardest working players in the gym, Sain brought intensity and passion to both ends of the court. She has impeccable on the ball defense and was not afraid to give or take a little contact. She’s vocal and hustles on every play. Her presence on the court was important to her team’s success.

2026 Morgan Smith | Wayne Memorial HS
Morgan is a smart, gritty guard who sees the court and makes good decisions with the ball. She was great at not forcing anything but allowing the game to flow to her, finding her way in the offense, and giving her team what they needed from her. On defense, she is aggressive with quick feet. There weren’t too many players that could get past her.

2026 Secrette Carter | Belleville
Giving 110% on every possession, this lady baller was the “get it done” member of her team. She did a little bit of everything. She rebounded. Defended multiple positions. Chased down loose balls. Finished strong at the hoop with contact. Most importantly, she was a contestant energy source and place of encouragement for her team. She is a worker.

2027 Allison Crighton | Orchard Lake St. Mary’s
A crafty guard that showed she can handle pressure, Allison got the job done. She made great moves to the hoop and finished strong. She had good court vision and dropped some nice dimes to her teammates. She has quick hands and feet on defense and effectively transitions.

2025 Collena Bryant | Wayne Memorial
A hard-working player floor general for her team, Bryant was definitely a key component on both ends of the court. She is smart, made great plays for herself and her teammates, and was not afraid to take big shots. She is tough, and that could be seen the most on the defensive end. Bryant was patient and made sure that her teammates were, too. She directed traffic and made sure everyone stayed in constant motion.

2025  Moriaha Gordy | Detroit Edison
Gordy is athletic and quick. She made some big defensive plays that resulted in easy buckets for her squad. When the ball went in the air, she was always either in the paint, boxing out and battling for the rebound, or the wing making her back down the court. Her motor is high, and she plays hard.

2026 Micah Darling | Wayne Memorial
A quick first step and a lot of heart made Micah a problem for her opponents. She plays with a lot of intensity and is relentless. In transition, she kept her head up and advanced the ball quickly. She is a strong on the ball defender and can finish strong once she starts downhill.

2024 Mia Wright | Belleville
It’s always a great feeling to see players during spring and summer play and immediately see a difference in their game. Mia had better timing, blocked shots, and was a strong rebounder, and she was more active around the rim. She got down the court in transition and was more aggressive on defense. Once she gets her footwork together, she is going to be a beast for her team.

2025 Ava Lord | West Bloomfield
Ava is fast and has a long stretch. She is a strong defender, not afraid to get in her opponent's face. She has quick hands with that stretch and racked up quite a few steals and easy buckets. She is comfortable at the point but does not need the ball in her hands to be effective. As subs were made and personnel changed, Ava made the necessary adjustments and understood her role at any given time.

2026 Jaebri’an Autry | Detroit Renaissance
A solid player that is a great communicator,  Autry sees the court and reads the defense. Her shot selection was impressive. She never forced anything but did not hesitate to score. She attacked the gaps and penetrated the paint, not shying away from bigger players or contact.  Her help defense was top notch, forcing turnovers and even altering shots. She has a high motor and gets down and dirty on defense.

2027 Layla Stewart | Orchard Lake St. Mary’s
One of the top incoming 2027 players in the state of Michigan, Stewart has a quick first step, is athletic, and high IQ, Layla was an undeniable presence. She was the energy source on both ends of the court. She has nice moves and can handle the ball very well. She gets in the paint and knows how to get under the defense to score at the rim and even grab a few rebounds. She has a lot of tenacity and works hard.
