IT’S A WRAP!!!!!!
Belleville, MI: The 2nd annual Wilkins Summer League crowned two champions tonight, after a great few weeks of competitive hoops and a night full of tough playoff games. In the Super Elite Division, Wayne Memorial knocked off Lake Fenton with great defensive pressure and aggressive play on the offensive end of the floor.
In the Platinum Elite Division, Ann Arbor Pioneer used their size and experience to hold off Ypsilanti in a tough 3-point victory. There were some exceptional players and performances all summer and tonight was no different, here are a few players who stepped up big in the playoffs!
Sylver Bowles Guard 2024 Ypsilanti
Sylver had complete control of the game for Ypsi tonight. She ran the show using her nice ball-handling ability, and great vision and was very aggressive in getting into the lane to make plays. She also showed good range on the jumper hitting the three or scoring off the bounce.
Savannah Fellenbaum Wing 2024 Lake Fenton Savannah has great length and a very good feel for the game, she used her length to affect the game on both ends of the floor locking up on d and scoring the ball slashing to the hoop, or knocking down the wing three off the penetration and kick!
Emmanuel Davis Forward 2024 AA Pioneer
Emmanuel was dominant in the paint all night for Pioneer, she used great footwork, and soft-touch with a strong physical presence to score down low and rebound the rock at a high clip. More of a go-to player this year Emmanuel looks ready to fill the role.
Corniya Clay Guard 2024 Toledo Central Catholic
Floor general supreme, Clay runs the whole show for the Irish. She has the rock on a string using her quickness to dictate the pace of the game driving, dishing, scoring in the lane, or with the pull-up and float game. Clay is tough on-the-ball Defender and is a fierce competitor.
Addison Chase Guard 2026 Dexter
I have a phrase I use quite a bit “who got next” and Addison repeatedly answered the question tonight that she was definitely next in line. She had a great night putting together complete games, handling the ball, making the right pass and of course, hitting multiple bombs from deep. Chase carries herself with confidence well beyond her years and an ability to go with it.
Tierra Golden Guard 2025 Wayne Memorial
Tierra was deep in her bag tonight for Wayne helping them win three games in a row to win the Ship. She was knocking down the three from deep, beating any and everyone off the bounce, and making some tough finishes in traffic. She was dropping dimes to teammates, locking up on defense, and doing whatever it took to get the win.
Vanessa and Ava Rodriguez. Guards 2026 Father Gabriel Richard
These two class of 2026 Guards have not stepped foot on a high school floor yet but you would never be able to tell by the way they continue to ball out. These twins got the full package, they can shoot it from all over, handle it with great pace, and composure, and never get rattled under pressure. Tonight, they carved up defenses and made plays almost willing their short-handed squad to the championship game but falling just short to Lake Fenton. Two of the best players in their loaded class are just getting started!
Mayla Ham Wing 2023 Wayne Memorial HS
Summer League MVP the silky -smooth wing dominated most games she played using her length, athleticism, and ability to score the rock at all levels to help Wayne win the title. Tonight, the jumper was clicking which made her an even tougher cover and she exploited the defenses for easy buckets any time she wanted. Mayla has taken her game to another level and I look for her to maintain momentum and have a huge July.
