Wooster, OH: Session 2 at the Ohio Summer Showcase was all about the upperclassmen with the 2022s and 2023s taking the floor. Right out of the gate there were some intense battles and some high-level play, with everyone trying to prove to the baseline full of coaches that they were the right one!! There were a lot of good players in the building, here are some of the standouts from Sunday's action.

Kailey Minch 2023 Willoughby South Guard
Kailey was a bucket getter all day, she hit the three, knocked down the mid-range and she did a great job hunting her shot. She has a smooth stroke and all she need was a small window and it was going up and going in.

Kennedy Arison 2023 Akron Hoban Guard
Kenendy was very active in scoring the ball in transition, she also did a great job playmaking for her teammates and knocking down the perimeter shot. She was tough on defense on and off the ball forcing turnovers and turning them into transition points.

Laura McCoy 2023 Labrae Guard
Laura has a nice handle and does a great job creating her shot off the bounce. She is a floor general PG with good poise and a nice feel for the game.

Alayna Smith 2023 Ursuline Forward
Alayna has great hands and great feet, she is an aggressive rebounder who does a great job setting the screen and rolling for buckets. She also was a big-time force on defense blocking shots and holding down the paint.

Leena Patibandla 2023 Massillon Jackson Guard
Leena was the most intriguing player of the day, blessed with all kinds of ability she didn’t look like she was breaking a sweat but still managed to wow the crowd with big time moves, dimes and buckets. Leena is a long guard with an exceptional handle and great vision, she gets nice elevation on her shot and has the length to get to wherever she wants on the floor. Leena is Big Time!

Brooklyn Davis 2023 Norwalk Wing
BIG TIME REBOUNDER!! One of the hardest working players on the day, Brooklyn got her hand on pretty much every rebound. She was super aggressive on defense and getting loose balls, and she knocked down the occasional shot when she was open. She is definitely a coach's dream player.

Emma Pedroza 2022 Napoleon Guard
Emma was all over the floor today for her squad, she was dropping dimes, scoring in transition, playing tough defense, and rebounding the rock at a high clip. Emma plays with a ton of energy and showed there wasn’t much she couldn’t do on the floor.

Tai Roberts 2022 Andrew Osborne Academy Guard
Tai is a strong quick PG that can get in the lane and make plays for her or her teammates. She was a tough on the ball defender and her pressure forced a number of turnovers which led to easy baskets.

Kylie Liebacher 2023 Margaretta Guard
Another very high energy player, Kylie did it all for her squad today. She scored the ball in many different ways, slashing, hitting the jumper, or just bullying her way to the hoop it didn’t matter Kylie was tough to guard. She has a very high basketball IQ and her feel for when to make the pass and when to attack was on point all day. Kylie also was aggressive and tough playing defense and rebounding the basketball.

Paris Stokes 2023 Canton Mckinley 2023 Guard
Paris is a super quick guard with a sick handle and the ability to shake her defender and finish in traffic at the rim. She also used her quickness to harass the ball handler getting steals and forcing turnovers.

Jocelyn Ramos Chears 2022 Columbus Worthington Guard
The best scorer I saw all day, Jocelyn got big-time buckets every time she touched the floor. She hit the long ball, got to the rack off the dribble, hit the pull up, and scored in transition. Jocelyn also showed she can make the right pass and rebound the basketball. At one point in her game, one of her teammates asked her “Jocelyn are you going to just do everything” and she was right, she was doing everything!!!

Jordan Weir 2022 Glen Oak Center
At 6’5 everyone assumes you are supposed to be good at basketball, well in this case they are right! Jordan does a great job doing what a lot of players won’t do and that’s play tall. She did a great job and kept the ball high when scoring the ball or grabbing rebounds, she displayed great footwork and a soft touch. She also ran the floor and was able to establish solid position in transition for easy buckets.

Brinn Hunt 2022 Toledo Central Catholic Guard
I love watching Brinn play, she gets better every time out and this time was no different. She is an aggressive player that scores off the bounce or slashing to the hoop, she is an extremely smart player that makes the right play for her team and she works hard on both ends of the floor. Brinn looks ready for a BIG senior year.

Sidnee Bowden 2023 Canton Mckinley Power Forward
Sidnee showed her versatility today by not only rebounding and scoring the rock in the paint but she showed that she can put the ball on the floor and make plays for her or her teammates. She showed a great feel for the game making nice outlet passes and hitting shooters when she was double teamed. Don’t put a label on her, Sidnee is a 6’2" BASKETBALL PLAYER.

Ma’Kaylia Lute 2022 Huber Heights Wayne Point Guard
The ultimate PG,  Lute is like a super quick coach on the floor, she runs the show, locks up on defense, and pushes the rock setting the table for her teammates. At one point today, she was beating her defender off the dribble for buckets or dropping dimes and another she was forcing turnover after turnover, turning them into transient points for her or her team. Coaches don’t let this one slip away, she can go!!
