Indianapolis, IN: Michigan teams were well represented in the USJN in Indianapolis. Overall our Michigan teams presented themselves very well with a lot of wins and some stand out performances. I didn’t get to see everyone but the games I was able to catch there were definitely some performances worth mentioning.

Mary Copple Michigan Mystics Hightower 2023 Guard
Copple had a good morning running the show and making plays for her Mystics squad, Mary always seems to find herself in the middle of the action and nothing changed today, she made plays off the dribble, knocked down shots, and made the right assist to her teammates.

Brynn Reams West Michigan Drive Copeland 2022 Forward
Brynn, the Aquinas commit, was all over the floor today, she rebounded she scored the rock knocking in 12 in game two, and she always seemed to make the right play to help her squad win.

Olivia Dirkse Cagers 2022 Guard
Olivia is a great leader and today she was not only the vocal leader but she ran the show for her Cager squad throwing some sweet passes to her teammates and knocking down the three when the defender backed off. On one play she showed just how athletic she is by leap frogging an opponent going for a blocked shot clearing the girl outright.

Rayah Hitt Michigan Premier 2026 Guard
Rayah (playing up a grade) was deep in her bag today especially in the 2nd half of her team’s game this morning. With her team down, she got hot and scored from three, going to the hoop and in transition to help keep her team close.

Lauryn Wilder Michigan Mystics 2024 Guard
Lauryn was super aggressive in her game this morning, going to the rack scoring the rock, and putting pressure on the defense any chance she could. She mixed it up by hitting the J and scoring off the bounce, she was very impressive today.

Sydney Vis West Michigan Drive Copeland 2022 Forward
I love what Sydney brings to the table every time out, If you need a bucket she got you, if you need a steal she got you if you need toughness she got you, you name it she got it. Sydney was up to her usual tricks today dominating the game with her all around play and dominating the competition.

Sydney Savoury Michigan Mystics Smith 2027 Wing
I hate to beat a point into the ground but Sydney is a special, special talent. Today I watched and concentrated on the little things and just like I thought she did them all and more. She is a great passer a great defender and she plays the game with a very high IQ. Today she showed off her passing skills throwing some pretty passes to teammates for layups and played with a pace and maturity well beyond her years.

Ava Mallar Michigan Premier Blue 2025 Guard
Ava has a steady handle and the ability to get to her spots on the floor, she did a great job today of dictating the tempo and creating for herself or her teammates. Ava has a very nice feel for the game and her basketball IQ is extremely advanced for a younger guard.

Kate Stemmer Michigan Mystics 2024 Guard
I could talk about the plays Kate made offensively like hitting the three or scoring in transition but it was the Defense for me! Kate is a lockdown defender who caused all kinds of havoc on or off the ball, her quick feet and on ball toughness makes it hard for her opponents to even dribble with her around. Kate competes at a high level on both ends of the floor and she showed that big time today.

Avery Zeinstra West Michigan Drive Copeland 2022 Point Guard.
Avery usually the supreme floor general turned bucket getter today in the afternoon game. Scoring at every level she ended up with 27 points and had multiple assists. Great day for the GVSU commit.

Lauren Sollom Michigan Mystics Ruh 2022 Forward
Lauren played very well today rebounding the ball at a high clip on both ends of the floor. She also was aggressive scoring off of put backs, in transition, and with post touches. Playing inside and out she was highly effective for the short-handed Mystics.

Aaliyah Ratliff West Michigan Drive 2023 Anthony Guard
Aaliyah is a tough athletic defender who uses her speed and quickness to affect the game on both ends of the floor. She does a great job scoring in transition and slashing for buckets, today she had the J clicking as she hit two big triples in a span of a minute to help her squad pull away.

Sydney Pnacek Michigan Mystics Ruh 2022 Guard
Sydney does a lot for her Mystics squad and today was no different. She played the 1-4 handling the ball making plays off the dribble and knocking down the J. In her team, tough OT loss Sydney took over down the stretch hitting a three and scoring off the bounce on two separate occasions to help force OT.

Liley Williams Michigan Mystics 2026 Center
Liley just keeps getting better every time I see her play, this week she has been effective in scoring the rock with a nice touch around the basket, blocking shots, and rebounding the basketball. Williams did a great job catching the ball high and keeping high, which is still sometimes lost on a young post player. The future is crazy bright for this young lady!

Aliyah Durry West Michigan Drive 2023 Anthony Forward
Aliyah plays with a lot of energy, she is a tough competitor with a very high motor. Today she dug into her scoring bag and scored in transition in the flow of the offense and had the J clicking knocking down back to back triples from deep to help her squad pull away.

Liv Linden Michigan Mystics Hightower 2023 Guard
Liv has an extremely high basketball high IQ and you add her ability to see the floor score off the bounce and create for her teammates and you have a hard cover for anyone. Liv slashed and dazzled her way through the tournament playing at a high level on both ends of the floor, coaches she is definitely one to watch the rest of July.
