Belleville, MI: Day 3 of the Wilkins Summer league was made up of top matchups between top teams, top players and once again there were some young girls that proved they are not afraid of the varsity stage. The last night heading into Thursday's Championship round there were a lot of players who stepped up and showed out!

Reece Hitt  Parma Western HS  Guard  2022
Reece is a true floor general, she has a nice handle and great vision, she made some thread the needle passes and she showed great control of her squad. In Parma’s last game of the night, Reece took advantage of the defense backing off of her by knocking down the three.

Angela Rondon-Cardone Ann Arbor Huron HS Guard 2022
Angela was on fire today, knocking down the three getting to the rack, and scoring in spurts. In one game today Angela scored 8 straight in a matter of 2 minutes hitting two triples and banking one in to help Huron maintain a lead. She also played extremely tough defense, a very good athlete, Angela has improved her game each time out.

Kira Lawrence Arbor Prep HS Guard 2022
Kira was shooting the lights out today, spotting up on the wing Kira was letting it fly and barely moving the net. Catching in transition or in the flow of the offense Kira was showing she was one of the top shooters in the gym tonight.

Kindall Hightower Ecorse HS Guard 2022
Kindall has a sweet stroke and she’s not afraid to hold her follow through to make sure everyone in the gym knows just how pretty that J is. Kindall shoots it from deep effortlessly and has the handle to create her own shot.

Shani Lewis Belleville HS Guard 2022
Shani just might be the best shooter on a Belleville squad loaded with good shooters. In one game tonight Shani caught fire hitting three straight deep triples and continued to knock them down all evening.

Jordan Wright Ann Arbor Huron HS PG 2022
Jordan started the night on fire, scoring 20 of her team’s first 25 points knocking down 5 triples and she continued to ball out the rest of the night. In a tough loss to Parma Western in the 2nd game Jordan showed just how hard she is to stop with her handle and ability to beat her defender off the dribble.

Tyra Wright Arbor Prep HS Guard 2025
Tyra, only an incoming 9th grader already has the attitude of a great shooter. She has a pretty shot that she can create off the dribble or get off in the flow of Arbor Preps offense. Look for Tyra to hit a whole lot of threes for Arbor Prep for the next four years.

Sage Edmonson Ann Arbor Huron HS Forward 2025
Sage moves very well for a young interior player and showed her soft touch and ability to score the ball tonight. Getting good post position, showing good hands and good footwork Sage was very effective in making plays in the paint.

Mariah Cross Scarlett MS Guard 2026
This young girl is a burst of energy and a walking assist. Mariah Weaved her way through traffic finding her teammates and making exceptional pass after exceptional pass. She also showed an ability to get to the rack and finish in traffic. Mariah, to be so young already has a great floor presence, add her super quickness, nice handle and you have a point guard who is hard to deal with. Stay Tuned Mariah is still a baby and she is already balling out!

Charlotte Miller Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard HS Point Guard 2025
Charlotte has something special that takes most point guards a few years in high school to figure out, she already has a great feel for the game and her patience and ability to play under control is something you can’t teach. Charlotte was smooth under pressure tonight not getting rattled while finding a way to set up her teammates for shots and looking to create her own when the opportunity presented itself. Charlotte gets better every time I see her play and just think to she is just getting started.

Davai Matthews Wayne Memorial HS Center 2022
Davai had the three ball clicking tonight, trailing the play in Wayne’s transition break Davai, who usually does all her damage on the inside, calmly knocked a couple of threes down and looked pretty smooth doing it.  If Davai adds that consistently to her bag it’s going to get ugly for Wayne Memorial's opponents this year.

Ava Rodriquez Guard 2026
Ava has such a bright future, playing against an extremely tough Wayne Memorial squad Ava (only an 8th grader) hunted shots and was aggressive knocking down the jumper and getting to the rack dropping some sweet dimes to teammates. Ava plays well beyond her years and her confidence in her ability to score the ball is unbelievable. Any college coaches reading this, please don’t let her age or her size fool you this girl is the real deal!!

I’ll take two

Sometimes coaches get lucky and they get two girls in their lineup that can do a lot of similar things on the floor and they complement each other so well that it leads to a lot of success.

Here are a few that stood out not only tonight but all 3 nights.

Hillary Griffin and Alyna Lewis Parma Western HS
Both of these guards can get anywhere they want on the floor, score it at will, handle the rock and create for their teammates. This combination is proven and they look to make a lot of noise this year.

Mayla Ham and Paris Bass Wayne Memorial HS
Both of these wings are long, athletic can handle the rock, and are silky smooth going to the hoop. Ham and Bass are menaces on defense and anytime during the game, you could find both on the floor diving for a loose ball or causing a turnover. These two form a perfect match.

Sydney Pnacek and Chloe Perry Dexter HS
These two wings do it all for Dexter they both are super aggressive offensively scoring off the bounce, in transition, and slashing to the hoop. Pnacek and Perry have the vision, court awareness and IQ to make the right play on both ends of the floor.

Stephanie and Stacey Utomi Arbor Prep HS
These super athletic twins make so much happen on the floor for Arbor prep, they are involved in almost every defensive play and their aggressiveness rebounding the ball, slashing, and scoring in transition causes so much havoc to their opponents that one is scary but two is just down right not fair.
