Ann Arbor, MI: The first year of the Concordia Cardinals Women’s Basketball Team Camp was a huge success. There were buzzer beaters, exciting young players, top 100 players, top teams, and much more. Shout out to Coach Keifer Haffey and his coaching staff on running a great camp. Today marked the last two sessions of the weekend but it definitely wasn’t short on excitement and standouts.

Mary Copple Brighton HS Point Guard 202
Mary had her hand in every part of the games I watched today, she knocked down shots, controlled the tempo, played tough aggressive defensively, and made some sweet passes to set up her teammates. Mary has complete control of the game and her leadership and work ethic is off the charts.

Lauren Dewolf Ann Arbor Pioneer HS Point Guard 2022
Lauren ran the show for Pioneer with confidence and a lot of talent and ability to go with it. Lauren weaved through the defense while directing her teammates and setting them up for easy buckets. She maintained a great pace and a lot of poise with the rock and when she wasn’t dropping dimes, she was going to the rack and finishing or drawing the foul.

Taylor Piper Grand Ledge HS Guard 2022
Taylor is a light’s out shooter, she has a pretty stroke and only needs a little space to get it off.  Taylor is not just a shooter she also showed great vision and court awareness with an ability to make some nice passes

Tadassa Brown Columbia Central HS Post 2022
Tadassa was a force today on both ends of the floor, blocking shots, running the floor, finishing in the post, drawing the double sometimes triple team, finding her shooters, and even showing off her handle in transition. Tadassa was having fun today and rightfully so she was dominant.

Leveesa Clark Fowlerville HS Guard 2022
Laveesa had a great couple of days this weekend but she really shined in her last game of the day. In a tough back and forth contest she basically took the game over on both ends of the floor doing whatever it took to make sure her team got the win. During the 2nd half, she hit multiple threes, scored off the dribble, got to her spots, and made big play after big play including a huge 3 to put her team up late in the game. Leveesa also changed the game defensively with her full court ball pressure forcing turnovers and causing havoc and disrupting their offense.

Tori Briggs Fowlerville HS Point Guard2024
Tori is a nice PG who runs the show and plays extremely intelligent making the right decision and the right play when the ball is in her hands. She has a burst when pushing the ball but she is always under control and never lets the defense control her tempo, which is usually a trait of an older point guard.  Tori showed her poise down the stretch when she worked her way into position to get the offensive rebound and score the put back at the buzzer for the win.

Ann Arbor Pioneers Young BIG 3

Pioneer has a nice trio of young girls on the inside that play extremely hard, very tough, and play their role in the flow of the offense and defense.

Kayla Covington Forward 2023
Kayla is super athletic and did a great job protecting the paint and intimidating anyone trying to score inside, Kayla blocked shots and rebounded the basketball with a vertical that exceeded most girls trying to jump with her.

Jasmyne Gatson Forward 2024
Jasmyne has good footwork and a nice touch in the paint, she worked hard to establish position on both ends of the floor. For a young post player playing her first time with the varsity, Jasmyne showed maturity on defense to wall up and not leave her feet but still was able to affect her opponent's attempts.

Emmanuel Davis Forward 2024
Emmanuel, also new to varsity showed good poise and a nice presence in the paint using her body and extremely long wingspan to secure offensive rebounds for put-backs and to grab defensive rebounds leading to outlet passes to start the pioneer break. Emmanuel also showed a nice touch on her shot.

Aizlyn Albanese Guard 2025
Aizlyn is going to be a good one, she is long, has a nice handle, creates off the dribble, and finds a way to finish multiple ways in traffic. Aizlyn is an aggressive scoring threat and she got buckets today at all three levels.
