Bates Fundamentals gained control early in this one. Their ability to get live-ball turnovers and convert them for layups really stood out. 2024's Leila Wells and Komara Sylvester created havoc in the passing lanes and allowed their team to eat in transition. 2024 Lily Zeinstra was a bright spot for WMD in the first half as she looked comfortable vs. Bates Fundamentals half-court zone and calmly knocked down several triples to keep her team in the game. WMD PF Jayka Luckett was very good as well. She caught everything thrown her way and was able to finish In traffic. Bates workhorse Brooklyn Vaughn provides energy on the boards and in the transitions game as Bates clung to a 4 point lead at the half. The second half saw WMD's Lily Zeinstra tie the game at 25 with a deep three early. From that point on, the game was back and forth. With 2 minutes left, WMD's Reese Polega stroked a deep trey ball to put WMD up 3, 38-35. Bates would respond with a 6-0 run and they never looked back as Bates Fundamentals would go on to win the LBI Hoosier Summer Invitational Future Stars Division Championship.
