South Bend, IN: It was good to be in my hometown (South Bend, IN) for the Michiana Middle School All-Star Game to evaluate some talent. The Charles Black Center was rocking with great fans, a New York-style live commentator, and a DJ. So with the stage set and the atmosphere on 100, we would find out who the best of the best were in the Michiana area. Here are a few performances that stood out on the evening.

Kira Reynolds 2025 | Team White
Kira Reynolds was the most dominant player on the night. Whether it was picking her spots to dominate on the glass or showing off her guard skills to get to the basket or putting pressure on the defense by getting downhill & getting to the free-throw line or two monster blocks, Kira earned her MVP nod. She was instrumental in Team White securing the victory. Reynolds established herself as the best prospect in the area.

Jessa Troy 2025 | Team Pink Co-MVP
Jessa Troy was money under the bright lights. She stroked the ball with confidence, draining several triples with range. She handled the ball at the point as well as showing she could be effective off the ball. When things seemed to get out of hand for her team, Jess seemed to make the shot or create the opportunity for her team to get back in the game. Troy was ready for her moment, and she showed why she’s one of the best in Michiana.

Mariah Stoltzfus 2024 | Team Pink
Moriah Stoltzfus was a significant player in one of the main stories of the game. Stoltzfus was being hounded full court by one of the best defenders in our area in what turned out to be an epic matchup. Mariah was up for the challenge as she showed off her ability to handle the ball and make plays with flair. The ultra skilled PG was worth the price of admission.

Andries Taylor 2024 | Team Pink
Taylor was cocked and ready to shoot early in the game as she netted two triples early to set the tone for Team Pink. Taylor is small but carried a lot of the weight early for Team Pink with her defense and dead-eye shooting. It was a very good showing for Taylor, who held her own on the court with some of the best talents in Michiana.

Kristlynn Minor 2024 | Team Pink
No one seemed more excited to be in the gym than Kristlynn Minor. She is oozing with passion for the game, and she can hoop too. She made a deep three and showed off a spectacular spin move that stunned the crowd but just came up short. This girl has skills and I am looking forward to seeing her develop.

Morgan White 2024 | Team White
Morgan White earned the name “Smooth” from the live MC as she always seemed under control and poised vs. pressure. Maybe the highlight of the night was her behind the back bounce pass across the lane with her left hand for a 3 points make out of the corner. White is skilled and has an awe-inspiring night.

Asiah Shaffer 2024 | Team White
Shaffer handled most of the point guard duties for her team and even has a spurt where she knocked down a big three and was able to make another jumper off the dribble. She elevated well on her shot and attacked all night. Shaffer is very aggressive, and that will serve her well next year at Mishawaka HS.

Ryiah Wilson 2025 | Team White
No one plays harder than Ryiah Wilson. She is relentless. Her high octane play and ability to score had the crowd favorite on her way to an MVP like performance. She got steals, defended full court, hit a step-back 3, and gave everyone a look at vintage Ryiah Wilson in that you know she will bring it at 100 % every minute she’s on the floor.

Ed’Nijah Clay 2024 | Team White
Clay was effective on the evening. Making hustle plays, knocked down a triple, and was able to get all the way to the basket to finish a layup. Clay is fast and plays hard-nosed defense. She will be taking her talents to SB Washington next year to play for the Panthers.
