By Jason Wilkins @LBInsider @WilkinsReport, 01/23/20, 8:45AM EST

Berlin, OH: The Classic In The Country is considered one of the top high school events in the country, and this past weekend was no different. Many of the Buckeye State's top teams and players invaded Hiland High School to showcase their talents in front of hundreds of fans, many media outlets, and over 75 college coaches over the three days. There were many standouts such as 2020 players Maddie Westbeld (Signed w/Notre Dame), Makira Cook (Signed w/Dayton), Edyn Battle (Signed w/Miami of OH), and many more.

Maddie Veisicky 6' SG 2022 Newark HS (OH)
A silky-smooth shooter from deep when her feet are set. Veisicky uses her size and length to be a threat on the boards. She showed off a nice touch when she got into the lane; her soft floater was very useful. Maddie is a solid passer and strong on the drive, which showed many that she is much more than just a standstill shooter. Veisicky had a game-high 21 points in Newark victory over Mason.
Hailey Weaver 6’ SF 2021 Solon HS (OH)
Hailey is a long wing player who finishes well at the rim. She was very efficient with her drives, getting to the hoop in one or two dribbles the majority of the time. Her athleticism allows her to take off further out and get up before the help side could bother it. She uses her length to finish around defenders and stretch out in transition and on drives. Weaver finished strong with contact and finished the plays off at the line as well. She was also effective from behind the arc by going 4 for 5 and finishing with a game-high 25 points in Solon's 73-48 loss to Princeton (OH).

Chance Gray 5’8” PG 2022 Lakota West HS (OH)
She showed off a smooth one-dribble pull-up that she used very effectively when defenders stepped off. She can pass in transition off the dribble with both hands in which she sneaked many passes past several defenders. She is very good at cleaning up the defensive rebounds and automatically turning and starting the break. Gray had a game-high 22 points in a tough 57-44 loss to Toledo Notre Dame (OH).
Sole Williams 5’8” PG 2023 Cincinnati Princeton HS (OH)
Williams already has a strong body that she is using to create contact with. She is a savvy defender, coming up with a couple of steals and deflections in transition. With a tendency to go left every time in the full court. She was still hard to stop when she got a full head of steam. Had a team-high 16 points and four assists in a victory over Solon (OH). Sole has a lot of potential and strength but will need to continue to expand her game, so she is not one dimensional. She has recently picked up offers from Ohio State, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Kent State, and Marquette.
Grace VanSlooten 6'2" 2022 SF Toledo Notre Dame (OH)
Grace is a very skilled player that has a very high basketball IQ. She showed the ability to step out on the perimeter and face up for the jumper or attack off the dribble. VanSlooten is a solid defender who was always in the right spot. In two games at the Classic In The Country, she had games of 19 points and 21 points in helping to lead her squad to a couple of victories.
Cotie McMahon 5'10" SF 2022 Centerville (OH)
McMahon was a beast! The skilled wing proved that she can do it all! Scoring the ball in many different ways, she was able to slash through contact and finish at the rim. Also, she was an excellent perimeter rebounder who went coast to coast and made things happen for her Centerville squad. There were times when she posted up smaller defenders and finished right over them. Cotie averaged 28 points and 12 rebounds in two games in Berlin.
