When Mya Petticord '22 is locked in, she can do anything that she wants on the offensive end of the floor. Lethal Scorer...

Ann Arbor, MI: The Washtenaw Holiday Classic hosted by Ann Arbor Skyline was filled with tons of high school girls basketball talent from all across the state of Michigan for all levels of collegiate basketball coaches to recruit to help take their programs to the next level. The competition was very competitive throughout the event with the heavily anticipated matchup between Southfield A&T vs. Arbor Prep living up to its hype.  This is an excellent event for high school teams to continue their season during the Christmas break as they prepare for conference play come January.

Washtenaw Holiday Classic Top Performers

Cianna Gloster 2020 5'11" PF Swartz Creek HS (MI)
Gloster dominated inside the paint all day long for her team in helping them pull away late in the 4th quarter for a 48-38 victory over Ann Arbor Skyline. She was effective scoring around the rim whenever she touched the ball and was active on the boards on both ends of the court. The uncommitted Gloster had a game-high 25 points and 12 rebounds.

Sienna Smith 2020 5'10" SG Ann Arbor Huron HS (MI)
The U of M Dearborn signee came out ready to go after halftime. Smith who scored 16 of her game-high 22 points in the second half was very productive from behind the arc as she knocked down five triples along with a few assists. Smith does a lot for her squad which should help them have a good chance of winning a very competitive SEC Red Division title.

Sydney Hendrix 2023 6' SF West Bloomfield HS (MI)
If you haven't heard of this kid before Saturday, then you will hear this name a lot more shortly. The versatile freshman pumped in 13 points in a variety of ways, as she scored off the dribble, many offensive put-backs, and perimeter jumpers. She also played stellar man-man defense as she showed that she's very capable of defending multiple positions on the floor. Hendricks showed against Ann Arbor Huron that she's one of the Top 10 players in the state of Michigan's Class of 2023.

Logan Lewis 2021 5'9" SG West Bloomfield HS (MI)
Logan showed a lot of grit and determination in Saturday’s matchup against a good Ann Arbor Huron squad.  She led her team with 16 points, scoring in a variety of ways.  In transition, she attacked the rim with great success.  Her ability to score the ball kept her team in the game until late.  She never gave up, stayed in attack mode and showed the versatility in her game.

Mya Petticord 2022 5'8" PG Arbor Prep HS (MI)
Petticord was brilliant on Saturday as she pumped in a game-high 24 points in a stunning double-overtime 53-50 victory over Southfield A&T. Petticord was very efficient on the court in all aspects. She handled the Warriors fullcourt pressure very easy as she didn't turn the ball over that led to a few easy layups for herself and when she was not finishing she was finding her teammates for easy scoring opportunities. This is not an Arbor Prep team that we are used to watching in years past, but when you have a point guard like Petticord you are still in good shape.

Myanna Hooper 2022 5'6" PG West Bloomfield HS (MI)
Hooper has a bright future ahead of her. Only a sophomore and playing the most crucial position in the game, she held her own in her game against Ann Arbor Huron. Hooper displayed a lot of poise throughout the day, quick handles that allowed her to attack the basket or find open teammates.

Cheyanne McEvans 2020 5'9" CG Southfield A&T HS (MI)
Cheyanne had a sensational game against Ann Arbor Huron finishing with 21 points.  She scored in every way imaginable and also got her teammates involved.  Cheyanne played with a tireless energy that was evident to everyone in attendance.  She went all out on every possession, spending considerable time on the floor diving and battling for loose balls.  Whether rebounding, blocking shots or converting difficult shots in traffic, Cheyanne was always giving it her all. Jasmine Worthy 2020 6'3" Post Southfield A&T HS (MI)
One of the first things I noticed watching Worthy is that she plays with a lot of energy.  She was active on the offensive and defensive boards and she ran the floor extremely well.  Her effort was rewarded quite a few times as she was the recipient of passes in transition that resulted in layups.  The uncommitted Worthy finished with 19 points as she is showing the potential to develop into a dominant force at the collegiate level.

Kailee Davis 2021 5'5" PG Detroit Renaissance HS (MI)
Davis made some necessary adjustments in her play in a game against the Flint Kearsley.  She played solid throughout making plays from the point guard spot.  She ran the offense and was effective on defense.   Kailee was a big part of that swing as she took on a scoring role after the 1st quarter.  She exploited the pressure defense with her quickness and ball handling to continually get in the lane.  This translated into easy baskets for Davis and teammates.  She also made some difficult shots in traffic and drew fouls, Kailee finished with 18 points.

Mikyah Finley 2021 5'10" SF Detroit Renaissance HS (MI)
Finley was instrumental in the Phoenix convincing 69-28 victory over Flint Kearsley. Her energy and intensity provided a spark on offense and defense.  Finley's disruptive activity on defense caused turnovers that led to uncontested transition layups.  On offense, she stayed in attack mode and got to the basket early and often for a game-high 21 points.

Janee Faulkner 2020 5'9" SF Ann Arbor Skyline HS (MI)
Janee started the day with a good shooting performance against Swartz Creek.  She caught fire late in the contest, making crucial shots en route to a team-high 16 points in a loss to Swartz Creek.
