Redford, MI - The Motor City Roundball Classic is an event that has truly become a part of Michigan’s Christmas break tradition. Four days packed with basketball played by some of the best teams in Michigan and it’s bordering states. It also gives us (the fans) a sneak peek of what the state playoffs might look like as teams who normally would not play each other, go head to head. The last weekend of the year is something that basketball fans across the state have grown to look forward to, and this year’s event would not disappoint them.

Monica Williams  2021  5’6”  PG  Detroit M. L. King HS
Monica was a feisty ball of energy on both ends of the court. She hustled and played extremely hard while encouraging her team to do the same, even when they established a very comfortable lead. She was a floor leader, scoring and defending. She finished with a game-high 20 points.

Sharon Smith  2022  5’6”  PG  Saginaw HS
Smith really tried to be everything her team needed. She scored, she rebounded, she got steals and dove on the floor for loose balls. She played almost the entire game, and never stopped fighting. She finished with a team-high 17 points.

Lauren DeWolf  2022  5’6”  PG  Ann Arbor Pioneer HS (Click Name For Player Profile)
In a very tough matchup against a talented and disciplined St. Ignace team, Lauren showed her “basketball maturity” by keeping her composure and being a floor general for her squad. She created shots for herself and kept the offense flowing.  When the other team made their run, she was a vocal presence and key contributor to her team holding on to the lead. She finished with 13 points.

Halle Marshall  2021  5’7”  CG  St. Ignace LaSalle HS
Halle was consistent and focused. Every quarter she had a big play on either end of the court and kept her energy level high. Her shot selection was smart and timely. She was solid and effective on defense. Halle showed that she is a key piece of the St. Ignace puzzle. She scored a game-high 14 points against AA Pioneer.

Taylor Thompson  2022  5’10”  SF  Grand Blanc HS
Long, quick, and athletic, Taylor created a matchup issue for her opponent. She did a great job of keeping the ball high on her shots and rebounds, allowing her to finish strong. She did an awesome job of playing the lanes on defense, disrupting passes and forcing rushed shots. She was a steady force the entire game and a major component of her team’s victory. She finished with 18 points.

Isyhame Ford  2021  5’7”  CG  Detroit Mumford HS
One thing that no one can ever say about Ms. Ford is that she is not a hard worker. Even after her team found themselves in a 15 point deficit, she continued to fight and give them some hope. She is aggressive on both ends of the court and can handle contact. She is athletic with quick feet and played solid on the ball defense. Isyhame finished with a game-high 20 points.

Precious Fields  2021  5’10”  SF  Detroit Cass Tech HS
Precious showcased her versatility on the offensive and defensive end. She put the ball on the court and got to the bucket multiple possessions and was able to finish with a hand in her face. She defended in the post and the perimeter when needed. She is tough and played hard from beginning to end. Precious scored a game-high 20 points.

Anna Tomczak  2020  5’9”  SF  Davison HS
Playing against a physical team in a tight game can certainly start to wear on
you mental and physical play. Anna stayed tough. She played strong, getting to the hoop and battling in the paint for rebounds. She was great in the press, forcing turnovers and forcing them to make bad passes. She played with a lot of confidence and encouraged her team to do the same. Anna finished with 19 points.

Laila Vincent  2021  5’9”  SF  Kalamazoo Central HS
Laila and her team have a whole get a lot of love from me because they never stopped playing. Once you fall behind, especially early, giving up is so easy to do. Laila did the exact opposite. She hustled and played hard as if the score was tied. She battled on the boards and got great looks at the hoop when she could. She scored a team-high 10 points.

Aneesah Morrow  2021  6’1”  SF  Chicago Simeon HS
You name it, Aneesah can do it. She knocked down deep threes, sank jump shots off the bounce, finished at the rim with contact, snatched rebounds out of the air, blocked shots...and well...you get the picture. It was her show. She finished with a game-high 21 points.

Cashay Dixon  2020  5’8”  PG  Chicago Simeon HS (Signed with Howard University)
Cashay was kind enough to open the game with a free shooting clinic, knocking down three consecutive long-range shots within the first four Simeon possessions. And her volunteer work continued throughout the game. She handles the ball well and made top of the line decisions. She was one of the best defenders of the day and a strong floor leader. She scored a total of 18 points.

Natasha Barnes  2023  5’9”  SG  Chicago Lindblom Math & Science Academy HS
A fighter until the end, Natasha literally left it all on the court. She is a hustle player, especially on the defensive end, and used her toughness to get her team loose balls, rebounds, and second scoring opportunities. Before she was injured, she was a major component in her squad’s effort to fight off a hot and hungry Bridgeport team. She finished with 13 points.

Catarina Juarez  2021  5’6”  PG  Bridgeport HS
Although she is just a freshman, Catarina has
heart and drive that reaches beyond that. She helped to spark a new found energy and attitude in her team to start the second half, and she never put that flame out. She was best at penetrating the paint and drawing contact. Catarina was vocal and made some solid decisions down the stretch. She finished with a game-high 17 points.
