Clio, MI: The Michigan Mystics "Queen Of The Court," held at Mystics Fieldhouse in Clio, MI, kicked off Sunday at 9:00 am and was indeed a showcase of some very talented Michigan players. Players ranging from 5th thru 11th grade from all over the state hit the court with Michigan Mystics coaches going through various drills that will prepare them for their upcoming season. Here is a brief recap of a few players that caught my attention.

2023 Sarah Rambus 6'3" Post Flushing HS (MI)
Rambus performance was consistent throughout the entire camp. She can handle the ball well for her long frame and has long strides that allow her to get past opponents and to the basket. Rambus was a defensive presence, altering shots and grabbing rebounds. Sarah has a huge upside and has the potential to be a very dominant player on the defensive end.

2024 Riley Abney 5'6" SG Brandon MS (MI)
Best shooter in the gym regardless of class. Riley shot it very well from short and long-range. She often was able to make strong moves with the ball to get inside the paint and finish at the rim or stop for the pull-up. If she continues to develop her overall game, this kid will be one of the top players in the state of Michigan's class of 2024.

2024 Mia McLaughlir 5'10" SF Frankenmuth MS (MI)
Mia showed that she could handle the ball in traffic while leading the break. She was very capable of finding an open teammate or finishing the break herself. She has long arms that she uses to her advantage when guarding a player that may be quicker than her. McLaughlir showed that she could shoot it from long range when left open.

2023 Makenna Clement 5'9" SG Byron HS (MI)
Clement used her size and aggressiveness whenever she could. Her strength kept defenders off balance as she was able to finish through contact on many occasions. She was able to showcase her stroke from three, hitting multiple daggers from deep. Mckenna was impressive to watch.
