2020 Victoria Alexander of Toledo Start HS (OH) had a good showing at the Bowling Green team shootout. Alexander is a long and versatile player, that can play inside/out & can defend numerous positions on the floor.

Bowling Green, OH: A few teams from the Hoosier, Mitten & Buckeye state took a trip down I-75 to participate in the Bowling Green Falcons team shootout on Saturday afternoon. Even though you don't win championships in June, a few teams such as Homestead (IN), Hartland (MI), Wayne (OH) & Minster (OH) all showed that they will have a chance to compete for a state title come March in their respective division. Bowling Green Head Coach Robyn Fralick and her staff did a fantastic job in organizing their 2019 shootout.

Top Teams

Homestead Spartans (IN)
Playing without sophomore to be Ayanna Patterson, who is a very talented player, Homestead looked good on Saturday afternoon in picking up a few victories over some quality opponents. The Spartans have a unique offensive system which they are very patient, sets a variety of good screens, can score it from the block and has the players on the perimeter that can knock the open shot. Homestead went 25-4 during the 2018-19 campaign, and with a lot returning in 2019, the Spartans should be able to keep things rolling.

Hartland Eagles (MI)
The Eagles were impressive last weekend in Ann Arbor, and they looked good in Bowling Green on Saturday. Miss Basketball candidate 6'4" Whitney Sollom had her usual day in the office as she is the primary piece for the Eagles success if they want to be considered one of the top teams in 2019; however, their youth is exceptionally talented as well. 2022 PG Amanda Roach is tough hard nose driven player that controlled the pace of the game, didn't turn the ball over and was a capable shooter from beyond the arc. This squad showed good chemistry and played very unselfish, which is why they will be considered as the pre-season #1 ranked team in Division 1 in the state of Michigan.

Wayne Warriors (OH)
Wayne was probably the best team I saw on Saturday in Bowling Green. The Warriors are athletic, can play in transition or in the halfcourt and rebounds the basketball on both ends. Coming off a 19-5 season in the 2018-19 season the Warriors have returning players in 6'1" SG Bree Hall and 5'9" PG Nyla Hampton along with
Saharra Murphy and 6'3" post-Jacquel Bronaugh this is a team that will be looking to cut down the nets in March of 2020.

Top Players

5'9" 2021 PG Ivy Wolf Minster HS (OH)
She killed teams quietly by doing the things, so many players forget about; boxing out, sliding into help defense, setting her feet and squaring up to the basket, and being aware of what’s in her area. She is a solid defender and was able to guard on or off the ball. She has a nice jump shot that was most effective off the dribble.

6' 2020 SF Victoria Alexander Toledo Start HS (OH)
Blocking shots, deflecting passes and grabbing rebounds then going coast to coast for easy layups were three things that Vicotria did well on Saturday. Alexander showed that she could defend and play multiple positions. Not a household name on the recruiting trail as of now, but if any mid-major college is looking for a versatile wing this is a kid that I will go check out real soon.

5'9" 2020 PG Nyla Hampton Wayne (HS)
It was clear to see that she possesses an advanced skill set in terms of ball handling, passing, and court awareness compared to the competition.  She got into the lane often and got her shot off with a variety of high-arcing floaters.  Teams attempted to pressure Nyla, and every time she would dribble out of traffic find an open teammate or get to the basket.  Nyla was exciting to watch and makes the players around her better.
