LBI Carolina Pre Live Period Notes and Observations

I have spent the month of April watching teams and players get prepared for the upcoming live period. Players getting ready to “audition” in front of college coaches. These are my thoughts and opinions of what I have observed.

Top Teams

Carolina Flames EYBL
SC76ers Black
Carolina Allstars 17u
Carolina Elite UAA 16u
Carolinas Elite 17u (ASGR)
Team SC Black
Carolina Flames Soph EYBL

Players that will break out this spring

Malaysia Fulwiley ’23 pg SC76ers Black
Young fearless point guard that has the potential to be one of the best to come from South Carolina. Extremely athletic, has the rock on a string, usually the most exciting player in the gym.

Indya Nivar ’22 g Carolina Flames EYBL
The next big time guard that will come from a Flames program that has a history of turning out very good guards. Her natural athleticism sets her apart, knocks down the mid range and is a nightmare in the open floor.

Samyha Suffren ’23 pg Carolina AllStars 16u
Very high IQ and a motor that doesn’t stop. Strong guard that can play both the lead and off guard positions. Really digs in on the defensive end.

Terranique Polite ’22 w LowCountry Premier 10th
Long wing that covers a lot of area on the defensive end. She rebounds outside of her area, excels in the open floor and can knock down the 3 ball.

Zoey Ward '22 g Carolinas Elite 16u (ASGR)
Big guard that really shoots the ball well from beyond the arc. A natural mismatch on the offensive end, can play the block or the wing. Mentally usually a step ahead of the rest of the floor.

Trinity Delaney ’23 p SC Future
Bouncy kid that rebounds very well, upside is tremendous. A young post that is worth keeping an eye on.

Ashley Roberts ’20 p Carolina AllStars 17u
Super strong post that loves the contact. Very good post defender and natural shot blocker. Tough as nails!

Imani Lester ’22 p Carolina Flames EYBL
Should shoot up everyones list of ’22 post players. Has some layers to her game that I am hoping she lets everyone see this spring. Can step out and hit the 17’ foot jump shot. Can handle on the wing and has an high IQ.

Taleah Stephens '21 w SC76ers Silver
Long wiry kid that can hurt you in multiple ways. Much improved jump shot to go along with good athletic ability. At her best in transition.

Keanna Rembrant ’21 w Carolina Flames EYBL
She creates matchup problems on both ends of the floor. Has the ability to play on the block as well as operate from the wing. Very long and disruptive on the defensive end.

Aylesha Wade ’21 pg Team Loaded NC KOD
Hard nosed point guard that plays with a chip on her shoulder. Shoot the 3 ball well, very good off the dribble and a lock down defender.

Jimena Vazquez ’21 p Team Loaded NC KOD
6’5 post that has made tremendous strides over the past six months. Her work ethic is very good and will not go unnoticed. She runs the floor and finishes through contact. High ceiling.
