Carolina Spring Fling Standouts

Darrionna Howard 2023– Carolina Flames (Maurice)
Lengthy player that can play end to end. She rebounds extremely well and is always around the ball. Causes a lot of problems on the defensive end with her length and can rebound and go. Has a really nice mid-range game and can score the basketball.

Betsey Burnett 2023- NC Lady Ballers
Straight up shooter that will let it fly from anywhere on the court. Hit the game winning three in the first game of the day to lift her team to a big early win. She has decent ball handling skills which should improve over time. Plays a little high on defense but was aggressive.

Briahna Scott 2023– Excel Celtics
This lefty is a long athletic player that can score in multiple ways. She runs the floor well in transition and will attack the rim. She can guard multiple positions and continually got deflections and blocks on the defensive end. Really enjoyed watching her compete.

Jordyn Latter 2023– NC Lady Ballers
Player with good length and quickness. She attacks the lane and can finish with either hand. Defensively she plays the passing lanes and is very disruptive.

Jyana Salton 2023– CLT Monarchs
She is a team leader who plays with good patience, and understanding of the game. She has good size at the guard position and is sneaky quick. Scorer from all three levels on the court and a good defender. Look for her stock to continue to rise this summer.

Watchlist Players

Laila Hankerson 2023– Carolina Flames (Rod)
Super quick guard that loves playing in the open court. She gets end to end in a flash. Good defender and smart player. As her shooting form continues to develop, she will be on everyone’s watchlist.

Jaida McClure 2026– QC Ballers
Plays with offensive swag that keeps the defense on their heels. Good change of pace player with high IQ to score from anywhere on the court.  Once she commits to playing defense with the same intensity, she will be one of the top players in her class.

Jamiya Lindsey 2025– Carolina Lynx
Good IQ and understanding of running the point. Gets teammates involved and plays hard on both ends of the court.

Neveah Farmer 2023- NC Lady Ballers
Good handles with PG skills. Hustle player that will get on the floor for loose balls. Hit the three ball and attacked the basket. As she learns to finish around the rim, she will be a player to keep an eye on.

Madison Mims 2023– Carolina Flames (Maurice)
Undersized point guard that is super tough. She plays with an edge and is quick to mix it up. Decent ball handler that can hit the outside shot and is crafty attacking the basket.

Jazlyn Harris 2024– CLT Monarchs
Good ball handler that scored in the lane and from three. Smart unselfish player with good upside. Defensively gets caught watching on D, but look forward to seeing her improve over the summer.

Morgan Thompson 2025– Carolina Lynx
Guard with a good base skill set. Often drove or slashed her way to the basket where she could finish or create contact. Once her shooting form improves, she will be tough to guard.

Janiya Bryd 2023– Carolina Flames (Rod)
Tough player who plays both sides of the ball and is not afraid to mix it up. She will shoot the deep ball as well as attack the basket. As she learns how to finish in traffic, she will be a tough matchup for anyone.

Lilly Booker 2024- NC Lady Ballers
Player who attacks the basket hard and makes good decisions whether it’s to score or dish the rock. Leader who took responsibility for her mistakes and makes everyone around her better.

Destinee Barnes 2023– Carolina Flames (Maurice)
Player who just finds a way to score. She can attack the basket and doesn’t over dribble often getting there on two dribbles or less. Good ball handler but will need to improve and continue to develop. Player with a lot of potential.
