Top Prospects Standout at PDS MLK

Charlotte, NC - After taking a year off from the PDS MLK Showcase, PDS coach Josh Springer brought the event back to Charlotte. It picked up where it left off with great talent and high caliber teams. The event was well run as always and had plenty of college coaches in attendance evaluating the talent.

 

Game Summaries

Rabun Gap 34
Bishop McGuinness 28

Rabun Gap was led by Senior guard Josie Earnhardt who had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Holy Innocents’ 52
Carolina Day 39

Senior PG Kaila Hubbard (UGA signee) led the Lady Bears to a win over Carolina Day. Holy Innocents' is currently the #13 team in the country. Hubbard played the 1-4, she showed her versatility running the team from the point while also spending some time on the block when needed. Freshman WF Jillian Hollingshead played a great game knocking down multi mid range jump shots. She did a great job running the floor and finishing in transition.

Legacy Early College 60
Northwood Academy 47

2019 and 2018 pg Mia Goolsby Legacy’s backcourt of CG Anayah Ricewere too much for Northwood Academy. Goolsby did a great job running the show creating for herself and her teammates. Rice was the most athletic player on the floor, she scored the ball from all 3 levels and turned in a solid defensive effort.

2019

CG Tyashia Bostick (Northwood Academy) had a good game. She showed the ability to play both the point and off guards. Bostick is a strong guard that can finish with contact and knock down the 3 ball.

Neuse Christian Academy 52
Providence Day 41

Newly named Izabela Leite (Florida State signee) led NCA to a victory with the help of 2019 post Izabel. Leite knocked down multiple 3 balls and seemed to make all of the hustle plays to push NCA past PDS. VerajaoMcDonalds All American

Kennedy Boyd (UNC signee) led Providence Day with 27 points.

 

Wesleyan Christian Academy 72
Carmel Christian 61

2019 exploded for 41 points while leading Wesleyan to the victory. Shaniya Jones (Virginia Tech signee) LBI’s #1 ranked player WF Anaia Hoard chipped in 10 points for WCA.

2022 Carmel Christian’s WF Chloe Williams showed why she is one of the top 8th graders in the Carolinas. She had a great offensive game with 18 points on multiple athletic moves to the basket often finishing with contact and getting the and 1. Her upside is huge! As good as she has become on the offensive end, she is a nightmare on the defensive end. Keep an eye on this one!
